For beginner, Its best to buy a complete bike. You'll need to have a shorts, glove and helmet ... these are very important for protections.

Mmm ... Rm2k ... I assume you'll want to go for a road bike. Actually with RM2k its kinda hard ... you can look around for bikes like scott, giant or fuji. Those also I think you'll need to spend about RM2k ++ not including shorts, glove and helmet. REMEMBER !!! SIZE of the frame that suites you is very important !!! With the incorrect size, you won't enjoy riding your bike.

For cycling groups, you can go to PCC .... they cycle leisurely ...hehe

I've seen the bike ... a Bianci with campagnolo components , cost about RM4k++ at joo ngan bicycle centre... very value for money. If I were a beginner, I'll go for that .... Beginers out there ... you can consider that !

campagnolo components are bit more heavier than shimano components , but there are a lot more reliable that shimano components. Heavy doesn't mean its not good ... for me , I won't want a bike that's too light, definetly you won't like it on flat roads.
