I've been using an Asus RT-N56U with a TL-WA860RE range extender for some time now but of late, I've been having to reset/re-pair the range extender WPS at least twice a month, which is getting quite frustrating.

And so, any recommendation for a replacement setup that would not require a range extender? I live in an apartment of 1300 sq ft. Imagine a rectangle, with the equipment at the upper right corner. Signal needs to reach lower left corner.

It is frustating. I think u should abandon repeater/range extender. Clearly it wont help.

Try use powerline or pull lan cable and install another AP to where u desire.

Single AP wont able to cover whole house. Definitely need an additional AP.

Hmm.. I live in a double storey house. Should I get a extender/powerline then?

powerline if you dont want messy cabling.

my house cannot support powerline, so i went for traditional RJ45 cabling to another AP. full gigabit speed. no issue at all.

wireless repeater sux. not very useful in congested area/zone.

just renewed my contract and changed my router from TM. They gave me Archer C1200, my wifi signal boosted tremendously compared to my old silver boxed innatech router.

But currently facing one problem. Whenever I restart or turn on the router, it takes about 3-5 mins to get internet connection (green signal). Any ideas why?

according to people, thats normal for c1200
