Hi, I got a Archer C7 and tried connecting to my Unifi account.

turned on the IPTV and selected Unifi as suggested.
still i cant connect. Any help?

PS: I am on a Unifibiz account.

You mean your C7 router can't connect to TM server and you can't authenticate?

correct

That should be all you need to do. Verify BTU is working and got link. Check lan cables, which port router to which port BTU. Check router logs for clues. The answer is there, just need to look in the correct place.

by BTU i assume you mean the modem? it is working and linked to TM. the old router still works and have also checked with TM.

Everything else seem to be in order. I have even factory reset the router to no avail. I googled and found the IPTV workaround and have applied it.

thus i am wondering if there are any other workaround that i need to try,

if everything else is in order, i think i can only assume that the router was DOA since it is new out of box.

Yes, BTU's the modem.

If the old router works and you say everything is in order then the only thing left is the new router. How did you come to this conclusion: "still i cant connect" ?

Have you checked the router logs?

There multiple areas showing that I am not connected to the internet;

1) the internet LED icon on the C7 is red (non-flashing)
2) the router set up page shows not connected
3) my computer n phone shows connected to Wifi on the C7 but no internet connection.
4) the IP did not change and is still the default 0.0.0.0

is there any specific things i should look for in the log?

Look for anything related to PPP or PPPoE in the logs. Can you verify that the C7 WAN port is connected to LAN1 (or the LAN port that worked for the old router) of the modem?

Can you post a screenshot of Advanced/Network/VLAN?

i will check it once the the office is empty. right now the colleagues using the network to work.

thumbsup.gif No worries. Just a silly mistake.

one final question if you would be so kind to answer. the original setting on the TM router, the MTU is set as 1492. should i follow their setting of 1492 or stick to default of 1480?

1492 bytes is fine. 1492 = 1500 -2-6 bytes for PPP & PPPoE overhead respectively. It’s the highest you can go. Any higher you’ll get fragmented packets.
To play it safe, 1480 is also ok for a slight, mostly unnoticeable, decrease in performance.

btw, just FYI: TM's DIR-850L defaults to 1492. Archer C1200 to 1480, not 100% sure. Mikrotik 1480.

thanks mate. all these things can be a little overwhelming. thanks for the explanation smile.gif
