Dear TP-LINK MY

It's possible to bring router with 2.5G SFP and LAN just like this router: TP-Link TL-XDR5480

User can use XPON ONU SFP with 2.5G (HSGMII PHY/MAC, 2500base-X) and enjoy 2Gbps Unifi Plan

as lwk523 have tested to unlock beyond 1Gbps, (tested via Wi-Fi 6 2x2)

I hope TP-Link can bring router with 2.5G SFP or even SFP+ with 2.5G support

make router like PC, can change xPON Stick SFP like change PC GPU, and still AIO

perhaps TP-Link should make xPON Stick SFP, just shrink TP-Link XZ000-G3 into SFP rclxms.gif

this should beat other ONU with MAC SFP out there

today I tested TP-Link Deco BE85 SFP+ with GPON ONU SFP (miniONT) on customer house...
user posted image

apparently TP-Link Deco BE85 doesn't' understand HiSGMII (2.5Gbps) very sad, if not can make All in One with 2Gbps Unifi support!
The WebGUI and Deco App very dumb down version, no way to check the LAN and SFP Interface is up or not...

hope TP-Link can make an update and add a option (2.5Gbps, Auto Negotiation Disabled) just like Mikrotik did way to apart from NBase-T and MII Standard

someone have tried attach my GPON ONU SFP to TP-Link Archer BE800

user posted image

apparently it didn't worked at 2500Base-X, even HiSGMII mode

user posted image

the SFP failed to link with BE800 at 2500Base-X and HiSGMII, to prevent brick stick, fall back to 1000Base-X

Now trying to force 2500Base-X temporary, waiting his answer

Want to ask

How come there is no fiber optic port for TP-Link router ax72, and need an additional optical network terminal (fiber -> wan)

But the default Huawei router from Times have input for fiber optic?

Are these 2 router different thing?
*
This called Optical Network Router (ONR) can be called as All in One as opposed to two device ONT + Router

if you wan to achieve ONR style, get an TP-LINK Archer BE800 and BE900 with beta Firmware and pair with PON Stick that plug into BE800 SFP+ slot

I have few customers have done this setup

Hence if you want to get a taste of all the latest techs and options to set around, go for their Router series. Deco series is only meant for extending mesh network in a premise with simplicity over the app setup.

I agreed, anything latest, device compatibility, TP-Link invest more to Router Archer series

Hi TP-LINK MY

I have sold the 2.5G GPON to TP-LINK Archer GE800 customer, apparently two customer using GE800 having issue with 2500Mbps WAN Ethernet where unable to achieve max speed.

Customer #1
user posted image

Solution, customer decide to buy Mikrotik RB5009 and GE800 as Access Point
user posted image

Customer #2
When set 1000Mbps WAN Ethernet, able to saturate GbE Speed, as expected...
user posted image

When set 2500Mbps WAN Ethernet, unable to achieve at least GbE at upload speed!
user posted image

What I see, GE800 cannot handle 2.5G traffic when pair with PPPoE

GE800 only can work as Access Point where no PPPoE is involve, TP-Link Engineer need to fix this...

For now, I would ask customer to use BE800 even device is EoL

If TP-LINK think my 2.5G GPON is bad, I wonder how ASUSmy Router can handle 2500Mbps PPPoE as per review showed here:

i think is better you go directly to their forums for immediate response. The forum is active and they have a moderator who is active daily whenever a support ticket is opened. Or you can proceed to email them a support ticket..

I had once had their engineer team viewer to my laptop to diagnose on deco issues. So it should be the same for the tplink archer series...usually they will have to get access to your hardware by sending over a custom firmware which can be debugged.
*
That happened before with one of my clients about his BE85

Also, I have ask my client to contact, I post here for him to refer

though it won't be immediate but they are very proactive in tackling software issues especially their latest lineups...

They are now focusing heavily for their Wifi7 series ...but is not a suprise..since a normal entry level wifi7 router mesh can essily cost up to a thousand.

BE550 much better LAN performance, 2.5G + PPPoE no issue

Hi.

I'm thinking of getting the BE550. Currently in Unifi 1gbps (but free upgraded to 2gbps) and using the white TM onu. My question is, if I get the BE550, can I just simply use it in place of the white onu, or I still need to use the TM device and bridged the BE550?
*
if you already in 2Gbps, you need my GPON Stick with 2.5G Ethernet just like this guy, using BE550:
