Oh no, those are just the values that the router defaults to. The actual value to use depends on the ISP or network. PPPoE is 1492. If there's additional encapsulation, the value will be lower. You can use lower if you want to. It shouldn't affect things but sometimes it does. Like what happened here: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4206500

I've a C3150 for about 2-3 weeks, the only router on the network and connects to Unifi30 plan.

problem I'm facing is what I suspect to be the router hanging ? once in a while my internet will cut off randomly (but WiFi still connected) and I'm not able to ping or access the router login page (192.168.8.1 for me). When this happens , I can't access other devices on the network eg: printer (wireless) or NAS (LAN) ... even though WiFi is connected. Tried on my phone/desktop/laptop.

When pinging the router during this time, I either get a timeout or Destination Host Unreachable.

Takes about 5-10 minutes for the router to be accessible again. I tried to reboot the router via admin page , in 12h or 24h intervals but hanging problem still persists. Sometimes a few times a day, sometimes can go 2 days without issue.

Firmware is the latest per admin page. Any ideas on what is causing the issue ? No problems in the 1st week and I haven't had any new devices added to the network since then.

Previously on Archer D7 (streamyx) ... perfectly smooth. Also is there a way to set Guest Network Bandwidth control on C3150 ? This was a feature on Archer D7 but missing on the newer models ?

TP-LINK MY , is there going to be firmware addressing Archer C1200 v1.0 random-restart issue?

1) The C1200 router automatically restarts itself randomly and it is getting on my nerve. vmad.gif Sometimes it automatically restarts 5 times a day, sometimes once every 2 days. As you insistly saying C1200 5 minutes starting time is normal........I am saying waiting the router to get back on its feet after the random reboot is really ANNOYING.

2) Not to mention the router is very aggressive banging UDP port 137 on every devices, yes, my family smartphones' battery are heavily drained because the wifi can't enter low power mode because the damnned router keeping accessing UDP port 137 Netbios crap every few seconds like there is no tomorrow doh.gif . How do we disable this aggressive behaviour?
user posted image

EDIT:Oh, I just cleared the comodo log, that is why the listed UDP 137 log was few as indicated in the screenshot. As you can see....the router keep on probing every devices on port 137.

And yes, the router firmware is up to date = Firmware version : 1.1.1 Build 20170706 rel.65715 (EU)

Try to update your device firmware.

One of the changelog : 1. Improved the router's performance.
Beware! Make sure you know your unifi login and hypptv setup because the firmware upgrade process will reset everything to factory default settings.

I have the V1 version but I do not face the same issue.

Like what JohnLai said, try updating your router to the latest firmware.

Hi experts, just wanna ask what's the difference between C60 AC1350 vs AC1200 C1200?
Am thinking to upgrade my router.
Just a normal user with TIME FIbre 100 mbps: streaming, download, online.
Which one is better ya, C60 or C1200?
Thank you. smile.gif

For one, even with updated firmware, C1200 confirms crash and reboot with a lot of connection such as torrent, sometimes even without many connection, it auto-reboot randomly. dry.gif

No idea about C60.

Hm... that is happening to the router i'm using now too: Linksys E1200 - keep rebooting but that's because 100 mbps is too much for it to handle when there's torrents. Was thinking to upgrade to fully ultilize the 100 mbps (got upgraded last time for free).

Could be a problem with the CPU utilization as it's not meant to handle heavy processor-based tasks such as torrents/multiple connection. Time to get a dual core router with more power bruce.gif

C1200 is one tier better than C60

Archer C60 comes with 100Mbit LAN ports. Time Fibre can go more than 100Mbits. smile.gif

Perhaps...but the way it reboot randomly seems to indicate firmware issue.

Then again, C1200 is using single core ARM Cortex A7 at 900Mhz. Can't say it is weak CPU problem.... hmm.gif

Eh...C1200 alone already costs a bomb leh.....no everyone earn 20k per month...
