Hi all,

I just sold my ER6F and wanna choose between this three bike for my next bike which it's around my budget for used bike price, year from 2010-2014.

Anyone have any idea or opinion or suggestions for me?

I been online research for review for this three bike but still can't make my decision.

Thanks everyone if u would like to share your experience.

I see, but Z800 is quite heavy, and Z750 is dated. I don't know if you can get Triumph bike under 40k. used MT-09 should be around 35++ I think, that would be my recommendation la.

z800 alot in bike shop used.. biggrin.gif

just another heavy inline4. ...

unless u r a die hard inline4 biker...

STR mat salleh said is a more refined bike, when compared to mt09 and others..

it has better suspension, better brakes...

Ya I try z800 today, is heavy but not that heavy as imagine.
I never try MT09 before but I heard from friend is very light weight and easy control. I should go have a try, saw few used MT09 around 36k on sale too.
Btw my height is 185, kind of big size body too hahaha

Ya I saw on Mudah 30k for triple R and triumph Malaysia have an used triple R asking for 39k too I think nego.

Btw why so many used z800 for sale in bike shop? It's because of z900 is out or z800 got problem like heavy or what?

But for sure a lot good review for triple r online that's why I'm consider about it.

Is a top heavy bike with steel frame..

Many beginner big bikers wannabe (just got their B Full or jump from kapchai) opt to go for biggest yet affordable (that time) 4 inline.. Instead getting to 650 1st at least ...

So when newbies got overwhelmed by power and other factors.. they think the bike not good.. so they selling it off.. And its pretty much not designed to attack corner anyway.. (unless on the hand of skilled rider)

Or perhaps they upgrading ..

Street Triple suited more for you.. it has good power to weight ratio and handling.... plus a quite bullet proof engine..

Just side note..

1. The bike engine no longer in production (changed to 765cc version)
2. Spare Part.. if wear n tear can get @ fastbike (the authorized distributor in Malaysia) but for body parts or other slow moving parts.. its kindda hard to get unless you willing to travel into SIAM...

If those 3 are the only choices, I'd opt for Street Triple R. The only downside I see (addition to ajaibman notes) is, it is a continental bike. You have the continental premium if something goes wrong (hopefully not lah sweat.gif ).

p/s: Most of my friends who have tried (not owned) Z800 says the bike is heavy. I haven't ridden one before, just sat on it at a shop.

p/p/s: Go try out the Striple at Fastbikes PJ. Surely you'll want one. brows.gif

Get the Street triple R. You won't regret it.

This coming from a former Z800 owner. As much as I loved the Z8, the street triple wins it by being super light and nimbler.

they sold thier z800 to buy the new z900. it's lighter by 22.6KG, comes with slipper clutch as standard, keihin throttle bodies, +13hp more, adjustable front 41mm usd fork, and ABS as an option. yes, the price is 50k tho. however, there's so many improvement over the z800 it replaces. what turn me off is it's still don't have any traction control and ride mode. my advice, go for the street triple R.

since ts is tall n on the heavy side, jz watch out the soft suspension of the mt09

reviewers mentioned the stock suspension is not good for riding hard n attacking corners..

msia mt09 still have jerky throttle response it seems...

I believe it's the group of ppl who bought the Z800.... Most owners I believe are those who can just afford a rm50k bike. Those who jumped into the big bike world but could not afford more expensive models. So they opted for z8, maybe just ngam ngam can afford. So when it comes to maintenance, road tax, insurance.. They come to realised that they cannot really afford to keep this bike. Hence sell it off.

The MT-09 for season riders will find the suspension quite soft. For new riders, it is negligible..it does not matters, in fact for new riders it is very comfort..the standard suspension of MT-09 is good till 7or8/10..but for normal road ride I think u barely push it till 8/10 limit..for street triple r, yes u can push the suspension till 9/9 or 10/10 but MT-09 gem is on the engine. brows.gif

It is very fun bike. If it is a person, it is best describe as a funny guy a bit gila2 drool.gif funny to be with..but if you cross him or disrespect him, it will whack you back.. notworthy.gif
It is light, quite easy filtering thru traffic jam..
Snatch or jerky initial throttle response,no issue la..anyone worth his salt riding a motorcycle can adapt to it in shortest time, but do respect your throttle twisting or else you will see the sky laugh.gif
The noise..oh yeah very sweeet noise it produce, the gurgling noise...oh my.. Low speed 2nd gear, twist the throttle and let go, the gurgling noise are just awesome..mind u, that is just from standard ehaust, not yet slapping with full Akira system,it definitely going to wet your underwear devil.gif
What I don't like only 2..the horn button location..whoever design the horn position deserved to be shot...
The standard seat quite hard, if your trip are less than 40 min, then it is fine but if more than that , u start to get a butt ache hahahahaha...but seat issue easy to resolve
It have a very good base to start with, in case you plan to upgrade it..
Imagine this....MT 09sp
Ohlins suspension front to back
Brembo brake caliper m42
Brembo brake & clutch lever
Akra carbon exhaust
& litter it with some carbon Fiber parts
Oh my oh my....have to start sell kidney cry.gif

From my limited experience with the mt09, yes, the soft suspension is a real bummer. Feels like you're sailing on a boat when you pick up the pace in the twisty roads. The twitchy throttle doesn't help either. Also, small tank means you'll refuel more often.

Apparently the new model seems to have fixed a few of these issues. Haven't had the opportunity to try it out yet.

Where the bike shines is in heavy traffic jam. It's the only bike I ever used that can keep up with the kapcais in terms of cilok between cars. laugh.gif

hard for hly to keep the price down with all the additional add-ons.. ?

proly gona be more expensive than the z900?

according to MCN review. the new mt09 ride is not much different than the old one,

front sus adjustable yea, but still - so so...

rear sus is the same but a bit different stock setting,

traction control kinda basic...

ppl who wana save just get used mt09, flash ecu, change sus etc.. more worth it they say...

if wanna get mt-09, probably spend another 1k++ for improvement, 800 for second-hand/recond suspension(zx6 model), and front change fork oil..(or fork spring for around 500++).
other improvement icludes a damper coz the bike tends to wobble at 200++

and please reflash your bike.

Recently upgraded to Z800.
I must say overall, this machine performs superb.
Powerful, easy to control, handsome & fun to ride.
Full suit or casual suit, either one looks fabulous on riding.
Even though common bike, it also shows market confidence to this machine.
If you lucky enough, you can get used one in excellent condition, yet rather low price.
Z800 may common, but the choice cannot go wrong either.
Nevertheless, choice is always there.
