Spark is not cheap after all Might as well top up for mavic
Meh, will wait for sales
lol still quite a bit cheaper than Mavic la... If you get Mavic you'll still want extra batteries and their battery isn't cheap either. Nearly RM400 for 1? So we just list it around RM4.8K. Spark combo around RM3.3K -> 1.5k difference is still quite a lot IMO. And I have to admit, I like Spark easy/fast set up to lift off. Only wished they included DNG...

Mi drone is much bigger la... you are paying mostly for the size for the Spark lol And 1080p is still quite good enough for now, maybe in a few more years when 4K is more widely used and common then can just upgrade to Spark 2

If 1080p60 still can accept, but 30 fps is just a dealbreaker Don't think it's worth $699, but since dji got no competitors atm, so...
Maybe until xiaomi comes up with their own foldable drone

$499 then without the extra battery and accessories For that price and size I still can't find any competitors that offer the same/better specs and tech, so in a way it's still a good deal. The only part I'm not happy is no DNG support...
Btw YLcamera has preorders now at RM3,188 for the combo and RM2,288. If you don't mind waiting for half a year, I'm sure price will drop by another few hundred like the Mavic. Probably RM2800-900 in 6 months time.

Well, it's too pricey for what it offers
No folding arms, 1080p30, no propeller guards or controller with standard package (actually a lot of people on dji forums thought that too)
Few weeks ago, saw someone posted on carousel selling RM3150 COD melaka, you might check it out yourself. But only got drone, one battery and remote only if I remember correctly.

Thanks
Anyways, I don't really mind 1080p (all my videos are shot at 1080p), but 30fps is a deal breaker

what was mavic's price when it first arrived in malaysia or during pre-order?
This for casual user, Kai review on youtube really show the target market for this device. Really love the small form factor (smaller than mavic) and the hand gesture , i think this going to be a hit. Thinking of purchasing it once it arrived here.

They try to market it at $499 but in reality, you need to pay $699 to get the advertised capability. With no controller, the range is kinda pathetic, less than 50m. Arms don't fold in, and 1080p30 isn't gonna cut it for a lot of people, even casuals
Also propeller guards are only included if you pay for the fly more combo, actually dji is kinda smart. This way everyone has to pay $700 for spark anyways

IMO most casual users won't drive the Spark so far away. They'll use most of the preset auto video mode like Helix, Rocket, etc. Or just the hand gesture for selfies. One of the reason I'm interested in Spark is because of the simplicity in using it. 1080p30 still ok la. Some of our popular local youtubers were still using 1080p30 until last year.

I'm still using 1080p30 for Youtube videos, no big deal. No reason to go 4K when most people aren't on it.
Not talking about 4k, I'm fine capturing videos at 1080p but at least 60 fps is a MUST 60fps captures twice as much detail and can be converted to 30fps if need be, but it doesn't work as well the other way round
