I believe one of the hotel staff (being a busybody) stapled my departure slip to one of the pages inside my passport. Now i could see two small staple holes on one of the pages inside the passport.

I ponder if the passport is still valid because I thought I read somewhere that the passport should not be tampered in any way.

So, i also ponder let's say if there is coffee stain on the passport or if the passport is dog-eared, is it still valid? Because I always keep my passport in good condition.

immigration staple all the time .... sometimes visa on arrival, immigration card ...

i even staple the receipt payment for my visa to my passport, even with visa d just to be secure ...

my passport dont even have the gold emblem in the front ald, yet i still can fly HCMC

slips also ok lar .... but sometimes, the reader not "kuat" enuf to read the chip, so end up have to pull it out from the sleeve and stuff slip out

yeah staple no issue as long as dont damage the info. some place even staple the front cover. LOL.

i think thai and some other countries always staple some entry slip on the passports. never a problem

The electronic film is in the front and back cover of the passport, not the pages. You can have 1000 staple holes and it wouldn't affect anything.

usually when u do tax refund in foreign country, they will staple the receipt to ur passport as well, so no worries with the stapler

The inside page is fine but if the front page where contains your personal info, then you need to pay to replace the passport with the new one.

Mine staple and when remove the staple accidentally torn a bit the page. But still can use.

On the page where it has my address ad stuffs well half of the page is gone and i still get acceptted in melbourne, california and new york airport.

The customs officer just laughed when i told my kids tore it off. The passport has chip so no worries. Other airport without the chip scanner havent tried.

u might get hard time when renew passport, as imigration office malaysia quite straight in tore passport. remember renew your passport earlier when it almost expired.
