sometimes is not just the co2 or the water temperature, got other reason, like the ph, the water condition, no2, no3 those thing, water parameter will cause it become like that as well.

sometimes maybe your tank don't have the beneficial bacteria growing in the tank, like in the filter, so it might cause like that as well. maybe i'm wrong about it, but sometimes it might happen like that.

so how can i diagnose whats the problem leh??... sad.gif sad.gif

nope, the film of oil is created by the plants themselves...
those are the protein, that's y need surface skimmer to do the work..
*
after i added an air pump and surface skimmer, the layer of oil gone adi... smile.gif

depends on what type of algae u wanna fight, normally sae will do the job, cae a bit slow.
otto is another option, but they won eat bba and hair algae.
shrimp? yamate...(opps, i mean yamato)
why use A4, u can buy the reflector easily from electric shop, for 2 ft, will cost u less than 20
just standard 3ft tank i have.
glosso?
i just trim, F'ing lot, but already give away all, din tell me earlier...
otto won help with the hair algae and bba.
*
otto dont eat bba and hair algae??... sad.gif sad.gif

A4 paper is jz temporary... not free to get reflector now... exam week... huhuhu... sad.gif

QUOTE(zoejehuty @ Oct 14 2008, 11:05 AM)
next time got glosso again let me know ya, what plant you have there?

haha, my tank now got 2 SAE, 1 CAE and 2 otto...
*
ehh boss, if i cannot get an SAE in time, can sell me one of ur SAE ahh??... later u get from NSEW fish shop lor next week... ok tak??... rolleyes.gif

Added on October 14, 2008, 8:46 pmi think i know what happen to my plants... those hair algae development is because i switch on the lighting for too long period... LFS recommend 8 hours of lighting daily is needed... i think mine previously was 8 hours of non-lighting... lolz...

bought a thermometer as well... water temp now is 28oC....

pinchboy, your signature is nice le...

about the algae, once the lighting is control, the growth of algae is control, but in order to clean of all of it, you need to WC frequently, later you also need to intro some algae eater, based on what algae is growing, and sometimes need to remove it manually by hand is there is some situation.
*
i've controlled the lighting already... limited to evening till da time i sleep... lolz... approx 10 hours or less i guess....
gonna do WC before leaving melaka.... but there isnt any algae eater that eats BBA hair algae rite??... yday i tried removing it manually by hand... some already grown into the leaves and stems and cannot be removed... i'll monitor the growth till tomolo... if still bad gonna change the whole plant... sad.gif

it started raining... but water temp still remain at 28oC... sad.gif

some of them you can just rub it on the surface, rub till gone, some you just cut of the left.

if moss got, then you just see and monitor, if stop growing then is ok, mine that day take out all the moss, and re-tide all back, those got grow with HA one i just throw it, the rest tide it back lo...
take me for 3 hours to do that job... phew...
*
so troublesome... i took out the whole plant and put inside another smaller aquarium adi... made another planted aqua using my previous 15cm tank... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

ohya, one of my diy co2 bottle cap is leaking... no wonder whole day no co2 bubble coming out... sad.gif sad.gif
