erm..catacomb bro, "small" i mean is not stones. i mean if you wanna go buy another wood, buy a smaller one. there's another type of wood beside bogwood and normally doesnt comes cheap. but you can buy the small size one like ranting2 size. the just cost around RM5-10 normally each. And for the stone you said want kutip from roadside, errr.. unless you know what is that stones and check for their alkalinity/acidity, then i hardly suggest you kutip em and put in your tank. they'll affect your water parameter and worst, even can make your fauna died overnight sometimes.
yes, normally LFS will sell by kilos. RM4/kg is consider cheap price in fact (but im not sure what stones are you referring to anyway). ah, that's not the point. normallyy, we bought a big one, and then use hammer and a pick, and break em to smaller pieces. or..u can always hire those indonesian workers in construction site to help break em with their freaking big hammer (i never do this before...just came up on my mind tho).
for the plants, hmm... ya i can say not many LFS carrying plants for aquascapers. i also used to have a hard time too to find em. where do u stay? if around KL/Selangor i can help you with my shot paper list of "place-to-go-to-do-shopping"

LOL~!
p/s : btw, dun say ur DW not nice. for me, every nature is nice. just play around with it and eventually you'll know what to do with it. but it;s always good to have options
thanks for the advices.... i heard rocks can be tested using vinegar... so far havent found any nice rocks by the roadside worth testing... lolz...
today i went LFS again... saw some nice healthy stem plants and some mid height plants available.. i grab them together with some hair grass... see the result below...

yea... quite messy... nature is like dat afterall...

The CO2 you mentioned is not worth the price. You can DIY yourself with less than RM10 bucks and refill for each time not more than RM3 though.

hey guys...

because of budget constraint...tat's why no soil and CO2....
But i tied all 3 plants on a wood i bought....can the plant grow??
i have 2 cherry shrimps and one snail (the lady said is strawberry snail)but i tried to find in the net..i couldnt find.....will take a photo of my snail for u guys to help me to identify....and the tank too..my tank is 18" x 8" x 8"
another question..the lady said i need to have bacteria to make the tank clean....can sifu sifu here explain to me??
currently i have blue tetra, black tetra, blue eyes tetra and another 2 orange color fish...forgot the name..
thanks thanks...
edited: can snail eat my java moss?? (sorry for all newbie question..learning learning)
java moss dun need high lighting or co2 also can survive... but their growth rate is much slower....
it is best to have some substrate below lor... substrate not jz provide nutrient for the plants, it adds to a more natural look of ur aquarium....
yea... bacteria can be grown in tank when the tank has been cycled for at least 1 week plus... but for new startups, it is good to add extra beneficial bacteria to promote growth.... bacteria converts ammonia (fish poo and uneaten fish food) into nitrite and nitrate, which is needed for ur plants...
