iPod Updating iPod Nano's Fimrware, 1st generation iPod

I have a question here, how do i update the iPod nano 1st generation firmware to the 1.3? When i plug into my MacBook, it written there only Machintosh format will be able to update the firmware while the current format of the iPod Nano is Windows
How to change the format to Machintosh without erasing all the songs?

Added on March 21, 2007, 6:55 amP/S: any good extractor for windows/mac to extract the songs out from the iPod? I don't know the question for the first question but for the second, try Yamipod, it is a really good ware also if you don't have ITunes as it don't need installation...  |

i think you cannot change the format to macintosh without erasing all song, how about you backup the song then can tranfer it again after update the firmware
