Sorry I'm not familiar to AMD, this AMD Ryzen 7 1700 is actually similar to i7? Without good graphic card can this PC run Autocad well? Would SSD help?

Thank again for the suggestion. notworthy.gif

Ryzen 7 1700 has 8 core, 16 threads. It will rollover mainstream i7 on work. Autocad graphic card requirement isn't high.

Yes, SSD will help with loading performance. You can add it later when you got more budget.

You might want to downgrade the CPU for a hexacore Ryzen 5 and pump the rest on a SSD - once you have get used to the responsiveness of a SSD you'll never want to use a HDD-based system anymore brows.gif

Essentially just swap the CPU to a Ryzen 5 1600 - saves RM560
and add a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB for RM509. Though other SSD brands such as Sandisk/Intel will work fine too (just make sure you buy at least 240/250/256GB storage or else you may have problems with it) icon_idea.gif

If you do not intend to store lots of data consider remove the hard drive from TristanX list, and upgrade the 850 EVO to a 500GB variant (+RM300) icon_idea.gif

TL:DR version:

From TristanX build,

1. Downgrade CPU to Ryzen 5 1600 (-RM560)
2. Add Samsung 850 EVO 250GB (+RM509)

Optional upgrades:

1. Remove HDD and upgrade to 850 EVO to 500GB (+RM300)
2. Upgrade RAM to 8GB to 16GB (if your budget permits)

You can always add a HDD at a later time when you have extra money. icon_idea.gif

Prices are quoted from Idealtech. icon_idea.gif

Sure you get less threads and potentially less performance - though the difference in real world may not be very big. In fact it's somewhat more balanced compared to TristanX build as a SSD will keep productivity going (no need to wait for slow HDDs dragging your PC down) icon_idea.gif

You can run a SSD alongside with a HDD. Just make sure that Windows is installed on the SSD, as well as your important programs. Files or programs that do not benefit from faster speeds from a SSD (such as small documents or programs) can be stored on the HDD itself. icon_idea.gif

Your uses are not exactly demanding. What spec PC did you buy only two years ago that is already struggling? blink.gif

My style of build is always max out base performance. Adding SSD later is more convenient than upgrading CPU.

Thks TristanX, ya I agreed with u, it is more easy upgrade or add Hard disk than CPU.

I suspect putting an SSD in will fix any perceived issues you have with your computer
