How's the SQ with wired mode(totally passive) ? My WH-H900N kinda sucks on wires. Sounds like quality drop 30% vs on wireless/active mode. Is this normal with wireless headphones like this ? I thought sound quality would be better wired.

I'm usually play it on wireless, on wire the sound reduced around 10-15%, even in the website it mentioned about it in the specs.

this headphone MDR1000x is designed for wireless so it will be better if for wireless mode which in fact they are

Not source problem. No issue on yours ? I read some reviews that SQ drop when using wired connection. And i have other wired headphones too..so no issue on source.

I don't own one, just trying to solve the mystery. hmm.gif However, out of curiosity, what source are you using for the wired playback? If it isn't source problem, then I suppose the onboard amplifier of the WH-H900N colours the sound, producing a sound that you prefer when played wirelessly.

I bring this issue & make a report to NCCC - National Consumer Complaints Centre.

Few hour later.....finally Sony customers service call me and ask me send my Sony MDR to The Curve service centre for repair.(FOC) rclxm9.gif

Nice! More consumers should know their rights and give hell to corporations with questionable warranty/services.

My MDR100x also broken. So did you received your repaired unit already? I want to send to Sony Center also. Did they charge you for the diagnosis (RM42.40)?

Bro. Did Sony replaced the broken parts with the same parts or upgraded parts?

Just wanted to know as I also have the same issues 1 week after ownership. And it is now exactly 1 year ago when I got mine from Sony M'sia. To my ears, nothing beats the 1000x for sound quality. I have tested the PXC550, QC35 and other Sonys but I settled for the 1000x for SQ and comfort.

FYI one of the hinge bracket finnaly broke few months back and what I did was the remove the plastic brackets, fix back the broken parts and craked parts with CA glue (super glue). Then after giving it some time for curing, I used a clear epoxy glue and layered the outer shell of the brackets. I used albright clear epoxy glue that comes in two tubes that you mix together. No more issues till now.

I've sent mine at Sony centre KLCC and they gave it back after 1 week. I guess they replaced the broken part. Now good as new. FOC since it was still under warranty.
