Bought the 88dbi fake antenna. No speed improvement, but signal stability improved a lot.
I was able to get stable 3 bars. Without the antenna, it was hovering around 2 bars, sometimes 3 bars
Not too shabby.

For the E5186 antenna, not worth if you have to buy it. If you get it free, then it is better than nothing

Not working on my 5186 either.
Set to 4g only mode, no calls can be connected.

Is it using in high rise apartment can cause the signal not stable? I live at floor 17.lol

my signal

RSSI (dBm): -73
RSRP (dBm): -97
RSRQ (dB): -11

Using e5172 and external antenna some more.
*
Depends on tower load. I get 3 bars with shitty speed sometimes.
For my case I am living at 19th floor, and 2 cell towers within range. If 1 tower congested, i move the equipment to near the front door, which is another tower and get good speed.

your RSRQ too high,.. if u can get -7 or below then it will be good

Running this stats on my 19th floor Digi

RSRP -91
RSSI - 67
RSRQ -10
SINR 3

Getting about 10Mbps at night and 12-13Mbps in the morning.
Pings are about 30-40ms.

This is with the '88dbi' antenna. Without it, the speeds at night are shitty.

Not the best cell tower due to congestion, but the best streamyx I can get is 4Mbps. This is way better.

CA is slower due to slow B7. My B3 itself beats both CA and B7 only hands down.
*
Wow, that's something I didn't consider. Test on B3.
Now I am getting 14Mbps against 12Mbps with CA.

Though..if I only need single band...waste money to buy E5186 sweat.gif

Hi. Anyone using tplink mr200 for digi i150? Hows the performance? I dunno y but mine teruk gila. Not stable. Need advice!
*
Could be tower congestion, or just bad signal stats.
Try bring your router to another corner of your house and see

Gave another speedtest this morning on B3 Mode, got 20Mbps thumbsup.gif
While the yagi antenna for 2600MHz is sold out locally, or hard to find, 1800MHz Yagi are much easier to find at TB.
Perhaps I can get a 1800MHz yagi to max out my B3.

Since you are the telco expert around here.
What is the real world top speed for Digi b3 on 10MHz. 75Mbps?

Thinking to hook up 1800mhz yagi to my CPE.

Taobao.
There is a mix of 900/1800 and 1800.
There are also cheap panel antennas with similar gains at simiar frequency range.

Try set 3g only to see if it your phone problem.
If it works with 3g only then thats another problem.

Did you manage to test out 5186 vs 5786 speeds? Any major difference other than one is a home modem and the other mifi. Thinking of going for the 5786 since i travel alot and using it for the main internet as well. Been using e589 as my main modem since 2013 and so far it stood the test of time with normal lte. Time for an upgrade to lte-a.  biggrin.gif
*
5186 is larger and have space for cooling. Once 5786 is loaded and left in place with less airflow, it will slow down.

But it terms of signal recpetion, stock to stock, I do not see major difference at least for my usage while testing out the e5786. My place is a weak digi coverage area, phones get me 1-2mbps. For using 5786 or 5186 placed at the same location, i can get 8-9Mbps.

If you want to improve signal strength, there is a ts9 port and you can get those ts9-sma antennas to improve the signal temporarily.

Because i saw someone signature is with 170Mbps ++, so i know there's still room to improve. Thats why i wanna know how this mobile tools gonna help me, cuz i dont really understand the reading. Currently with 2 yagi pointing directly to tower. And i once got the ping of 18 but now no such song sing d, and i once got the upload of 30Mbps ++ but now always at 20... I know i know, there's room to improve still... So any sifu can guide me on those reading thing?

one more thing for E5186 specs, Lan is at 1Gbps speed and Wifi is at 1300Mbps for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. May i know 2.4Ghz is at what speed and 5Ghz is at what speed?
*
What is your speed without yagi?
For research purpose.

2.4g should be 400mbps
5ghz at 867mbps.

With stock antenna not much difference.
The phone full bar is quite subjective sometimes.

Found and bought 2 Yagi 2600Mhz off Ali express yesterday.
Hopefully it is the real deal biggrin.gif
Yagi 2600

The title says 2600Mhz, which looks right and even comes with RG58 cables, based on the spacing of the antenna elements.
The description though...looks crap.

Either way, at RM80 for 2 sticks, no harm trying.

If this works and if I am too free, would probably consider getting a 1800MHz signal booster device.
And attempt for 150Mbps LTE-A

Which 1800MHz booster will you recommend?
*
I don't know anything about signal boosters. And they are not cheap either.
But those are the solution used by Shopping malls. Kinda like those old UHF/VHF Yagi solutions that we use for TVs last time

Receive Antenna > Signal Booster > Transmit Antenna

I having this kind of weird issue. Normal time i can get download 20-30mbps. But when night time my connection is suck. Check the speedtest , i can barely get 6-10mbps, with high ping and low upload speed or some time zero upload  bangwall.gif  Tower faulty ? Is totally unusable during night time.
*
Night time congestion.
Try compare the network stats between day and night time.
The signal quality at night should be bad due to network congestion.

You will be able to improve this by adding an external antenna.

Same here. Just did a test to confirm. Same cell id for b3 and b3+b7. But different cell for b7 alone.

Funny thing is that i get faster speeds with locking to b3 (dl 30mbps up 30mbps and some areas can dl 50mbps). If b3+b7 it is slower than b3. For b7 it is slower than b3 as well but probably because the signal for this is 1 bar.
*
Yes correct.
A lot of people including me are getting better speeds just locking to B3 instead of B3+B7.

Digi gonna enable B8 900MHz LTE.
Does E5186/E5786 support B8+B3/B7 CA?

From spec sheet it says 800+1800 but 800 is not B8 right?
