thank you for the advice, i will try with handphone first. what i am more concern is the latency.. hopefully not too high, or hopefully router can provide lower latency than handphone.. or maybe not much difference haha.

for my self la/my area kampung

before i apply this 150i i'm using prepaid test.
1. using hp normally coverage only get 2~3bar 3G/4G signal keep flipping/change between 3G and 4G.
2. using ipad coverage a bit good, signal receive 3~4bar and 3G/4G signal keep flipping too. speed test best i get is around 16mbps.

Once brought modem to test, 4G signal is stable and 4bar digi signal coverage.
min speed 20mbps. when none peak hour able to see 30mbps.

Found and bought 2 Yagi 2600Mhz off Ali express yesterday.
Hopefully it is the real deal  biggrin.gif
Yagi 2600

The title says 2600Mhz, which looks right and even comes with RG58 cables, based on the spacing of the antenna elements.
The description though...looks crap.

Either way, at RM80 for 2 sticks, no harm trying.

If this works and if I am too free, would probably consider getting a 1800MHz signal booster device.
And attempt for 150Mbps LTE-A
*
wait you to test and share the result here... not sure is a fake antenna or not laugh.gif

I don't think it's tethering problem.. coz i can open other websites just fine...
Just a few failed..

I've been tethering for GBs of data... no problem...
no bypass or sofware or anything... my hotspot quota doesn't decrease..
Not sure why... and never bother...
*

That's another problem XD

I can't create connection using the modem software...
It'll end up with "No Internet"...
By using windows default connection, i can connect to the internet... BUT I can't change the setting (DNS). It'll reset to default setting everytime i connect ..
*
what device u using? if your pc are in hotspot.. just set the google dns in your wifi connection properties there.

I bought these from taobao.

Speed has been improved a lot after using this combo set. External antenna is working and really boost up the speed. Normally i only get 30Mbps (iPhone 7 Plus) but now i got 60Mbps and above! Amazing!

Initially i experienced speed and signal strength (dBm) drop too, but after spent some time to adjust the antenna position, everything is working fine now!
*
yea..it become very sensitive on dBm. how u put the antenna position? standing or pointing?

current without antenna i only get 4bar signal. hopefully could get 5bar lol.... laugh.gif

sourcing for router with RJ11 connector (since its unlimited call, why not fully utilize it biggrin.gif)

found a few models from Huawei (eg. B890, B315 & B593) & all are sold without antenna. Is antenna really a must to get good reception?
*
if with modem the reception not good, can use antenna to boost 4G signal.

I went to a physical store in Digital Mall (I think), PJ. Shocked at how cheap some 4G LTE routers are. Turns out they're actually just normal wireless routers that have no SIM slot and requires an external 4G modem either via USB or LAN. The packaging labels can be confusing sometimes especially when one is 4G hardware noob - which I was back then biggrin.gif
*
yes, 4G modem with sim slot are't cheap... it's just a normal 4G router required a USB modem.

but add up 2 item it's a 4G modem price...
