Was looking at my cash upfront account (in my handphone) which have 3 big rows ie cash, shares and trading limit.

Under the cash row:
--have 2 smaller rows. Don't understand what is the 1st smaller row.
The 2nd smaller row is the cash available to trade .

Can anyone tell me what is the 1st smaller row?

foxxy 1) What is this value?

Yesterday in my cash upfront account:
My cash + current market potfolio price is at least $1k more than the value shown
My cash + cost of my portfolio (ie purchase price + fees) is at least $1k more than the value shown

That's why I don't understand what this value is. Doesn't seem to tally to anything

Today is even funnier. (did not place any trade today)
In my cash upfront account, now the 1st row value is showing the same $ amount as total cash that I have (ie trading limit).

2a) Also, does Rakuten bank in the dividend into our bank account?

2b) Today is the ex-dividend date for 1 of my shares. Wonder, when will we get the dividend from Rakuten

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi guys,

should i open an cash upfront account with rakuten or stick with the local banks (CIMB, maybank) as rakuten is just a nominee account.

Hi everyone, I have a question regarding DCA and broker fees.
Lets say I got shares for companies A,B and C.

and now every month I buy shares like this:

A - RM300
B - RM400
C - RM200

so I pay rm21 broker fees per month

***********************************

Is it better if i do like this:

this month buy A - RM850
next month buy B - RM900
third month buy C - RM870

Three months only pay RM21 fee

On one hand, in the long run I would be saving a lot on the broker fees. But then wouldnt the effect of DCA for each share would be lesser because I buy from each company less often (once every 3 months)?

But also, given how volatile share prices can be, DCA may not be impacted as much anyway I suppose?

Any guide to know how to transfer share from maybank nominee account to rakuten? As I know, there will be RM10 charges per transfer.

Very interesting tool and thanks for sharing! But maybe not so suitable for stock markets since prices can fluctuate so much (like what's happening now) and it asks for an expected return rate per year?

Update: answer found. Thanks

This probably similt with kentrade, check
My account > Transaction History > Dividend
Payment depends on payment date + Transaction days X
Nominees may take longer.

According to the terms and conditions in the Rakumargin agreement, Rakuten does charge a commitment fee for the margin account which is not utilised.

But they did not state the interest rate. Assuming 1% per annum on RM100K = RM1000?

Cause mobile may have issue and typing error.
Good luck on investing.

that's the thing i worry about.... they do not specify the rates/calculate properly (or i miss it).... i don't mind the 6%+ charges......it's acceptable since no collateral required. but i worry about the hidden charges... like this inactive fees... that's y i hesitate to accept it....
