Wait, what just happened? Yesterday I sold all my shares in company (bought at 1.5) and it says I earned 400+. Then I rebuy later in the evening @ 1.57.

Now my portfolio says my realised profit is 260+, but my average share purchase price is 1.522, but with "profit" of 117? What the hell???
*
I believe the average share price is calculated based on all the shares bought (including those that you have sold). That's what Rakuten has been doing to my stocks. I don't like this style but that's how Rakuten calculates

For your reading. I read but can't remember haha.
Still some people downplay the system. Sometimes during pre-close you see the price jump down more than 5 steps market depth.

Wow. Thanks. Didn't know about the pre-opening and pre-closing pricing algo although have seen many times those 'funny market depth'.

THe mechanism is to prevent people manipulate but I think still sometimes it's manipulated. Price go down many steps at closing.

I see. Wonder, if this pre-closing and pre-opening 'funny market depth' is common in other stock markets or just unique in Malaysia only

How can we subscribe for rights issue and also the free warrant under Rakuten? I have some Jaks shares and it seems that for every 4 shares held, one can get rights issue to buy 2 additional shares @40 cents each + 1 free warrant BUT we must subscribe to the rights issue. Would like to get the rights issue to buy the additional 2 shares @40 cents and 1 free warrant but am at a loss how to do so. Appreciate some help.

I regularly exploit it on the SGX at the opening or closing auctions to jump the queue. It's probably applicable to any market that has opening or closing auctions.

Thanks

Yes Rakuten averaged out the acquisition price

But calculations goes wrong when you do intraday. Even you have completely sold the stocks prior to repurchase, they still use your earlier acquisition price to average out

Thanks. I don't like this method.

If a company whose shares I'm holding declares that they are going to give bonus shares, do I have to write to Rakuten or will Rakuten automatically give me the bonus shares without me having to do anything?

I noticed that RT can buy Malaysia ETF.

May I know does the costs involve are brokerage fee, clearing fee and sst? Will RT also deduct the management fee, trustee fee and index licence fee?

Not all ETFs can be traded using Rakuten Trade. So far have not bought any ETF from Rakuten Trade because I don't know which ETF can be bought through RT.

I got this from 1 of the website comments when I was thinking of buying goldetf and myetf-US50.

https://myfintalk.com/rakuten-trade-review/

"Yes but there are some exceptions such as MyETF-US50 and leveraged and inverse ETFs which cannot be traded on Rakuten Trade.

Besides that, GOLDETF also requires special handling which you can refer to the FAQ (Link)."

Rakuten Trade Are you from Rakuten Trade and if so, how do I buy goldetf?

There will be a special arrangement if you wish to trade GOLDETF via Rakuten Trade.

i) Call in to our Customer Service Department to request this.
ii) The process of granting “BUY” limit will take at least 2 (two) working hours.
iii) Once the window for “BUY” order on GOLDETF has been granted, Customer Service Representative will then proceed to contact you.
iv) You will have to place the “BUY” order within 15 minutes. The window of the “BUY” order will be closed after 15 minutes. The same process applies to amendment on the “BUY” price.
v) Only on cash upfront account.

Same process for SELL as well.

For more info, you can click My WebpageHERE.

Thanks. But why is it so troublesome? Makes me feel like opening a personal CDS account elsewhere so that I can trade ETF and goldetf easily

Do we have to tell rakuten trade if the company shares we hold have bonus shares or will rakuten automatically give us the bonus shares at ex-date?

Suffering loss (when its supposed to be profit) as the shares went ex-bonus date on 3/8 and I don't see my number of shares increasing
