QUOTE(elmond @ May 18 2017, 09:57 PM) its very tricky, i'm communicate with the iflix support team at least 3 days, always ask me register new account. Didn't know that Lite comes with free iflix.finally i sent email said all steps not working, i'm give up, then they just add my last register email account with free redeem until end of year. steps provided by support team: To access your Unifi subscription, your device must be connected to your Unifi Internet Connection upon signing up. We suggest creating a new account on your computer. - restart your Unifi Internet Connection - connect PC to Unifi - Clear your PC's cache and browsing history, or access Google Chrome Incognito Mode - Launch play.iflix.com - Sign up for a new account You should be able to access your subscription until December 31, 2017. Connecting your device to your Unifi Internet Connection is very crucial. |

QUOTE(AjkR06 @ May 19 2017, 10:30 AM) At least the upload speed can be considered quite OK for the today standard. But many rural/kampung offered 4MB streamyx for rm88 since long time ago, CMIIAW.I realized who I am, village people who are considered as low cost area (miskin papa kedana) by TM, so Unifi Lite via VDSL will be my only viable option to enjoy 'high speed' broadband via wired. Anyway, not all people are lucky like you and most of the user in this thread who can enjoy high speed broadband via fibre. Fibre in my area only limited to the nearest street cabinet which in my case, situated around 600M from my taman (read as village). |

QUOTE(LeonTan @ May 22 2017, 01:13 PM) System not that accurate sometimes. Last few years I tried to check online abt Unifi availability at my home but answer was always negative. So whenever I was near TMPOINT I will recheck with them. So luckily last month at TMPOINT there is 1 port available n I quickly registered for Lite eventhough the days b4 I checked online it said not available. The online check for Unifi availability is not reliable. So sometimes I need to pray a lot "PORT FULL" issue By technically, yes, system will show port full but the system not that prefect, sure some will missed |

QUOTE(totally_skint @ May 23 2017, 12:00 AM) If not through ducting inside ceiling but over roof exposed to sun and rain then should be free. I thought so too, from pole to the entry wall should be free. May be TM paid these installers very little to the extent they try to cheat us. By the way TOMEI-R did u get a Fiber Termination Box(FTB)? Or they coil the fiber at the entry hole without FTB and connect directly to the FWS on the internal wall?Shouldn't it? QUOTE(westlife @ May 23 2017, 09:51 AM) internal wiring is free also. as long as the cable used does not exceed the limit set. if exceed just pay the extra. but free one it is not concealed. so it can be seen. but the free wiring does not including coming down from false ceiling etc. so the wiring is exposed, the black color thin fibre cable. all these are free if u dun request extra work. Was about to praise u for your foresight, then later part said pipe not big enuf. if u have existing pipe to your tv area, if the cable can go thru the piping from outside, no extra charges also actually. my house when i renovated time, got reserve the pipe for the cabling including astro, telephone line, fibre etc that is linked to my house living room tv console area. there is ready ports there for this. this is conceal one of course. when i installed unifi time, i tot should be ok, but end up my that reserved pipe is too cramp to put in the fibre cable. this could be due to the fact that my astro, i have pvr function, so by default, they got pull two cables from the satellite disc instead of one, end up the pipe is full of astro cables, telephone line. then the fibre one cannot go thru. end up no choice, they just drill a hole from the outside wall in to my living area, happened to be that the tv console area is next to it, so they just build a fibre point in my living room that wall to connect those wifi router etc. |

QUOTE(westlife @ May 23 2017, 10:50 AM) no le. surprisingly the last group of tm contractors who come to my house, they never mention that need to charge since i got internal wiring. I also notice that TM ppl are very vague/blur with these charges, as though they r helping the subCONs to cheat.i had deal with a total of 3 groups of TM contractors before my unifi got installed. 1) first group come, the hole near to my house outside wall was blocked. because when i renovated my house, i got ask contractor to cover the drills with tiles on the side of my house, then the stoopig contractor covered the hole. damn idixt contractor. they recommend to run the cables from outside over my walls and on the floor. that's stoopig of course i rejected. so i got no choice but to get my friend's contractor to open the hole for me by removing the portion of the tile. 2) after the hole is opened, second group of TM contractors come, they said the outside road to my house, the way is blocked. asked me to contact my developer on this. I actually tot how can it be, since my house existing telephone line is also coming up from there. and the way is quite wide for the piping, certainly more than sufficient for fibre cable to go thru since the cable is thin. ok lo. then i contacted developer, developer initially did not want to entertain me, they said they only provide telephone line for the way, and not unifi. i insisted and they sent contractor to check, the contractor tested and said the way there is no blocked, he is very nice even to put a rope there for the TM ppl to use later to pull the cable into my house. the contractor told me it is TM ppl who are stoopig and lazy to use tools etc to pull cable from outside road to my house via the way, so they just simply claimed that it was blocked. god damn stoopig. 3) third group come, then of course with the rope given by my developer's contractor, there is no more issue. just my concealing wiring is blocked. but after dealing with all 3 groups, i have a conclusion. the first 2 groups they came, they always quoted me rm200 plus minus amount of installation fee. and those groups normally come in more than 2 ppl, around 3 at least. obviously with more ppl, it does not mean they can do the jobs, in fact with so many ppl around for the second group, they also cannot even get the cable from outside road to my house and just claimed that the way was blocked. while the last group there is only 2 persons to come. and they did not charge me extra, but they fully follow the TM pricing scheme. but of course i do not require any special internal wiring since a hole is just drill on the wall for outside cable to come in to my living tv console area. but from this, can tell how cunning the first two groups, even i have conceal internal wiring, they still charge me for rm200 plus minus of installation which based on the tm pricing scheme, it should be just free. this can be confirmed, becos 3rd group who comes, never even charge me anything. so for those who have not installed, do fight back if they are trying to charge any cost that is not following TM pricing. dun let them simply earn all these extra $$ from us!!! I can imagine how many innocent houses had been screwed by them. TM pressed them this is not our problem, they can reject the work from TM if they think that TM does not pay them reasonably. but they cannot just simply charge us the way them for their pocket $$!! so beware if u see more than 2 persons of TM contractors who come to ur house, they are the groups who are likely to chop u. |

QUOTE(LeonTan @ May 23 2017, 11:06 AM) Actually if my walk-in customer normally I will tell them to inform installer to go for free standard installation Problem is these installers wanted to charge even you requested them for the standard installation according to the guide. And if u are not agreeable then they wont proceed n have to fix another appointment which TM warns will be chargeable. As an agent, can u post a copy of the latest Installatio Guide? So when during installation, pls inform installer first then only proceed. Always get ready the installation guide in TM website or in the sms which will send to you for every order created. |

QUOTE(westlife @ May 23 2017, 12:09 PM) haha. But sometimes u r at their mercy, cos if they r not happy they can do a bad job. TM should monitor these installers n bad ones should be terminated.there is a better way. before speaking to them, make sure the conversation is recorded. let them quote the price, if they quote higher than usual, show them the guide and tell them that u are calling TM 100 to 'confirm' the price. see what are their response. |

QUOTE(westlife @ May 23 2017, 02:39 PM) yeah, that's why i think it is crucial to make awareness of the issues to public, so whoever encounters the same, can voice out together. with only the power from the entire society, the pressure can only drive things changed. If only can ask TheStar to make an investigative report on this matter and make it known to the public. But many of these installers are cronies of GLC?A lot of time, it is not that it is not happened, it is more of regular customers may not even aware of their rights or they may not even know the right channels to fight for their rights. |

QUOTE(LeonTan @ May 23 2017, 03:44 PM) Not sure other's customers but mine normally they consult me first before doing anything so less customer complaint kena charge expensive. I am always caution during installation because I got direct contact to UniFi support team (Sel + KL) but for other places then I not sure already. Too bad not everyone like u.Different place has different team to handle installation At my shop, will always inform what to do and not to do so my customers always caution during installation. Up I trying to reduce all this issues for my shop here For your next door aunty scenario, got any resit inform to pay for what? |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ May 23 2017, 11:36 PM) QUOTE(hong9732 @ May 24 2017, 02:42 AM) This box is Fiber Wall Socket(FWS) fixed on the internal wall. Most ppl dont get the Fibre Termination Box(FTB) which is fixed on the outer wall. A black Fiber is pulled from the pole to FTB and then a white Fiber is connected to the FWS. For those who are shortchanged n dont get the FTB, a black fiber is pull to the outer wall, then the fiber is coiled(see pic below) a few rounds for spare b4 it goes thru the wall and connect directly to FWS, then a white fiber will connect to the BTU.TOMEI-R did u get this coil of black fiber on the outside wall b4 it is connected to the internal wall? It is so ugly n this is where the FTB should be. LeonTan is this how it is done nowadays? This post has been edited by MGM: May 24 2017, 06:40 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(cucubud @ May 24 2017, 10:13 AM) Looking at the photos below, FTB and FWS serve the same purpose. Outdoor fiber cable goes into the FTB AND indoor fiber cable goes INTO FWS FIRST THEN to the BTU.Outdoor fiber cable goes into the box and indoor fiber cable goes to the BTU.
