You'll be surprised with the amount of geeks who use apple products. Especially programmers.
I am a tech geek myself..have been using smartphone before they were even cool. This was in the windows mobile days.
Of course I'll still like android and am amazed with its capabilities but for a day to day phone....just to call, surf the internet and to take great photos, I prefer the iphone. Apple has always made the simple things better while android and windows has always focused on the complicated things. For them it is functionality over user experience.

Not for their work...as personal laptops. For watching movie, editing photos, browsing internet. Apple is almost useless for any work that doesn't involve photo or video editing.
I use my office laptop for work (office and home) but for personal use (uni, editorial work, photo/video editing, browsing and media), I use my Macbook Pro.
