Maybe it will save our country more money if we stop buying those lousy fuel.
It's like we r forced to pay more for poor quality fuel while the profits from high quality fuel goes into the government's coffers.

QUOTE(eddystorm @ Aug 25 2017, 11:59 AM) So what is your solution? Would prefer to use the so-called 'better quality fuel' that we are selling abroad at 'current world pricing' than to pay more for the 'dirty oil' that was imported. At least it would cause less engine related problems and indirectly lower the chances of engine-related breakdowns.

So they just keep selling cheap fuel with "global pricing" with Rakyat here. Double profit !!! BN crony treat Rakyat like ATM...

At least it would cause less engine related problems and indirectly lower the chances of engine-related breakdowns. The so called "Dirty Fuel" actually means that it is high in sulphur content - generally 12,000 ppm (1.2%). We sell abroad our low sulphur crude oil (sweet crude <0.5% sulphur), and we import in high sulphur crude oil (sour crude >0.5% sulphur). But the crude oil which we import in, still needs to be refined. RON95 fuel is currently EURO2M (500ppm Sulphur max, Benzene content 5% max) and will be EURO4M (50ppm Sulphur content max, Benzene content 3.5% max). So your argument is quite invalid. You don't necessarily pay more for "dirty fuel", and the fuel that we use is still refined. In October 2018, RON95 will be EURO4M - currently only RON97 is EURO4M. We are paying the market value of fuel in the first place, so all is well.

We are paying the market value of fuel in the first place, so all is well. Not only is the imported ME crude oil higher in sulphur, it is also "heavier" and requires more energy to crack in the secondary plants like catalytic cracking, hydrocracking and thermal cracking; and more energy to sweeten the products using caustic soda in the case of gasolines. The refining of heavy crudes also produces more CO2. As for the so-called harm to our engines, I'm not buying this idea - unless we are talking about poor control of "gum" in catalytic cracked gasoline which causes induction period problem.

QUOTE(SonnyCooL @ Aug 28 2017, 09:36 PM) that guy were saying he want to pump crude oil in his car la .... Maybe I don't understand he euro 4m and 2m or the crude process thing. But I do know that it makes no sense to buy bad quality fuel and sell to back to rakyat at higher than world price. Biz is biz. It's the typical understanding that most ppl in biz will use. But for a gov to continuously do this to own citizens, isn't it cruel? This is even b4 we question what does the contribution of those earnings brings back to the people? I'll definitely jump onto electric vehicle when it becomes mainstream.

Different quality is for different product. understand ? we produce high quality of crude oil and sell it off, so other can use it to produces QUALITY product other than PETROL ....
