Hi, I'm a fresh high school graduate who just got his UPU results. I got accepted into IIUM for its Economics and Management Sciences foundation course. Will be enrolling there some time in June. I am not a religious person nor am I interested in learning more about Islam. My questions about IIUM:
1) I've heard that the debating community there is very active. Is this true?
Yeah, that's correct
2) Will I be forced to practice Islam on campus (through rules and regulations)? If so, how strict are the rules?
nope you wont except have to cover your aurah with scarf if female. (at least it was like that when I was there)
3) How are the students there? Are most of the students pious and prude Muslims? Will it affect my lifestyle there?
it depends with whom you mingle with. IIUM is today for me just the name, the student and surrounding is not the same anymore. my 2 cents
That's all for now. Thanks in advance.
