Hi there! I used to work in a chinese restaurant back in my college days. 10 packs of 5 litres wine for 30 tables are way too much man. Usually they serve about 4-5 packs of 5 litres wine only. biggrin.gif

Because there are only a few wine drinkers (average 2-3 only) in a single table.

Wine from carton is usually not very good. You may want to serve better wine on the VIP table.

TS, please don't serve cheap wine in large container that is difficult to pour by the waitresses. People will drink very little of it and the bride and bridegroom family will get a bad name forever.

50 litre, divided by 300 people.

1 person = 166ml of wine

what you think?

and of the 300 people, how many you expect will be drinking?

Why so little table? Who's side? Groom or bride or both side? How much did you spend for it for the dinner + alcohol?

you don really need to count if the quantity is sufficient to feed every one
just prepare based on your budget and whatever is there, finish means finish!

I think most people already suggested u need more than what ts is proposing.

Why cheap out on your once in a life time wedding. Do you want to be the talk of your family or relatives or friends. I know budget might be a constraint but think about this, your impression on your wedding carries you a long way down the road.

I am not asking for a lavish grand dinner to impress everyone but please dont cheap out on your beverage.

It's not about being a cheapskate but more like trying to gauge how many bottles to cover as buying too much will end up wasting money while too litthe is quite the embarrassment.

Definitely not enough. Mine I bought about 15 packs 5L and only have 25 table. About 22-23 table occupied. At the end only left 1-2 box.

You calculate total people attend and total liter how many 1 person get. Also don't forget in wedding there a lot of wastage. They will bottoms up like crazy and some not drink finish. So you agak agak la from your invitation list.

5 cartons = 67 btls

1 btl if served correctly will fill 6 servings/glass

giving you 400 servings. Wine served at a restaurant that is not served in wine glasses will probably give you more servings.

Not everyone will drink and those that drink would take anywhere from 1-3 full servings (3 servings is 1/2 btl, which is quite a lot for most ppl here). Pick a heady wine like a shiraz and they wont drink so much.

I would think it would be enough, but would depend on your attendees, if you have more family and children, then you may end up with extra. Just make some prior arrangements with the restaurant for backup supply if needed.

I for one won't drink wine from a box though.

Depending if there are serious alcoholics among your guests but 2 bottles per table should suffice, especially if you are serving other types of alcohol. What wine are you planning to serve anyway? Oh oh...boxed Vin de Table. Might as well be serving Lambrusco ler...

for rough estimate 20-25% of total guests. 150 guest 30 bottles. 300 guest, 60 bottles.

if alot of kids, teens, muslim, then 10-20% of total guests.

60 bottles should suffice. Rest just get cartons of beer. Just don't taruk at the table. Put aside and hv a trusted relative to control if hv hard liquor also. When guest ask only pour for them so wastage won't be too much and nobody will bungkus balik excess botols without your knowledge.

Don't get too cheap wine too. If use restaurant house wine make sure it's ok and palatable to drink. You don't want guest kutuk and also leave too much extra unopened bottles. You bungkus balik also you won't drink.

got serve beer also?

if not, then average around 2-3 bottle per table

then at 750ml per bottle x 3 = 3250ml (3.25liter) per table

at 30 tables x 3.25ltr = you will need 97 liter..you only have 50 liter..i guess jst well..might not be enough for some..

but if got beer, then yes..definitely enough.. nod.gif
