city?

makes sense since lots of ex arsenal players go there anyway. if he's going to a rival team, city would be the best emotionally. if i HAD to let him go to a rival, rather city than chelsea/pool.

mbappe link

i'm mostly laughing at this piece of news, lik 99% laughing. 1% kinda hoping wenger convinces him to be the saviour of arsenal and be the player to return arsenal to PL glory and have his name alongside thierry henry.

QUOTE(tkh_1001 @ Jun 2 2017, 05:30 PM)
if it cost a bomb for mbappe then no lol

we need proven striker now. bukan developing striker. this team had enough of "next henry"
*
i think it's safe to say mbappe aint on the level of other "next henry" players we have like walcott or sanogo. if mbappe himself prefers to play in a team where he'll be the main man, why not at Arsenal. foolish as it is i see the logic in him choosing Arsenal, he's 18 years old, not a RVP reaching the peak of his career and wanting to win trophies. he should look to improve and learn and play consistently, learn from Anelka.

i'd sell walcott, but not to a top 6 rival. i still rate his finishing, esp his snap finishing, but i dont see him working in the 3421 setup we have now. MAYBE he can work in sanchez's position if sanchez leaves, with ozil being the playmaker. but ozil generally plays bad if given the main starring role, i think he'd rather have a sparring partner that's dependable.

sell walcott to an everton tier side, but not a liverpool tier.

if we signed kola, we then have 3 options for LWB, 2 options for RWB, and kosc/mustafi/holdini/gabriel/monreal/chambers and occasionally per, 7 options for the 3 CB spots. i think we have defence covered.

DM i still think xhaka/ramsey can do the job, coq and elneny are decent backups, with wilshere and santi sniffing around for opportinuty (but get real, those two will be out injured for some time anyway).

the two attacking mids, in the worst case scenario of both sanchez and ozil leaving, well damn we need to sign. walcott and wilshere might be played there, but i'll be damn worried. we need creative players in this area, and if we sold the two guys and not replace them, i can only see ramsey/wilshere/welbeck/walcott capable of filling in. if the two leaves, we need to sign.

up top it'll still be giroud and welbeck. giroud is the better finisher, better chemistry with the players, welbeck with the better workrate and hustle. we can do with a quality signing in this area.

so aside from ST, we might also need to assess the GK situation, is cech the right guy to be #1 again, or are we bringing in new blood, or let szc return to #1 and let cech mentor him, like the original plan when we loaned out szc.

i'm not sure what to say regarding Mbappe, i do see the sense in him coming here and being the main man, getting game time, it's not like he's old and have no time to win silverware elsewhere if he later finds arsenal not winning anything. the only thing i'm worried is his cut throat price tag. if wenger wants to make a final push for his final (?) 2 year stint at arsenal, so be it.
Mahrez might be a gamble, i would take him but not for a pogba-like price. i think we can persuade leicester to sell cheaper since he had a rather shit season last year. if sanchez leaves, the money should go towards getting another creative forward like him. who i dunno.

there's still potential for bellerin, but i prefer oxlade on the RWB, quality crossing

because i dont think a lot of arsenal fans really believe mbappe's considering Arsenal as his next club. also they dont believe we will splash the pricetag mbappe demands. lacazette compared to mbappe is a lot more realistic option.

if mbappe comes in i think giroud's going to be unsettled, they both play for france and arsenal dont usually play 2 strikers, unless mbappe comes in for sanchez.

the most realistic is lacazette. the way the rumours are going now it seems like we're really going for him. a sudden surge of news in a short amount of time, very arsenal like.

Dunno about his work rate, but if he's anything like welbeck with better finishing I'm cool. Heard he also has good link up play.

If Sanchez leaves there's a hole left, Laca might be able to fill in, but I'd rather see him up front supported by Özil and another creative forward.

Giroud with Laca/Özil is feasible, but cmon man I want an upgrade!

^ he was probably a panic buy, we needed depth in case our starters got a lengthy injury, and a backup player he remained. pity as he was given the number 9 and was a pretty good striker, was even touted the spanish vardy. he's probably not arsene's 1st choice and we settled for him.

hopefully we get whoever arsene's 1st choice midfield is, whether it be lemar or mahrez.
