Being used my S8 for more than 2 weeks, so I would say the issues that I encountered quite a lot compared with my previous Samsung phones. It still need a lot improvements.
1. Red Tint Issue Should I say panel QC issue? Reason is it never happened to my previous Samsung curve screen phones. My unit has red tint mostly on the edge. So the so non-real solution is update to latest firmware & tune it in the Screen Mode setting there. Still the solution is imperfect but better than none, consider a visit to SC if u really can't take it.
2. Fast Wireless Charging Paused Happened to me anytime as long as the phone temperature more than 40°C during fast wireless charging, so the best solution either using small fan to blow it during charging or using fast wired charging which temperature lower than 40°C even in the same environment.
3. Rear Camera Can't Focus Happened to me this morning, reboot phone also won't solve it. So I shake it shake it somemore... LOL. It back to normal. So it might be the OIS stucked there.
Still, I hope Samsung can make it better in coming firmware updates.
The same thing also happened to previous samsung phones such as Note 5 & S7. When you shake the phone, you can notice there's a tickling sound around the camera sensor. It's the OIS module shaking. Camera stucked seems to be a common issue for OIS.
Not common for me. As least never happened to my previous Samsung phones (S6, Note5, S7E & Note7), not even once.
There won't be any pirated apps if you only installed the apps from the Google Playstore. The pirated apps are those external apks that you sideloaded into your phone. Go and figure out which apps you were not downloading from Playstore. And then determine which of them are causing the trouble.
Not really lor. That day I only helped my friend to remove a QR scanner app which downloaded from Google Play Store & hijacked his phone with device administrator rights & caused his phone cannot setup permission on other apps.
Even Apple app store need to do screening on rogue apps published in the app store.
For everyone that got their S8 / S8+ during pre order (4th May) or during launch (5th May onwards) I think it is time we get our Screen Protection and Extended Warranty verified. Remember, we can only get the Screen Protection registered within 30 days of our purchase of the phone. If the seller for some reason did not register it for us, now is the time to demand them to do it. Beyond 30 days from the above date, we can kiss the screen protection goodbye.
There are a few hundred of units in different colours and model. Seller ships one day after buyer makes payment means no need to wait for group buy to be fulfilled to certain units. Anyone managed to get their unit already?
No worry. I know this seller in person, Samsung reseller. U can find this seller in Lazada & 11 Street as well.
In fact, there is an update coming soon as AQE5 because I'm using it now. This firmware comes with May security patch & already released for India. Since now S8 is using OXM multi CSC we can cross flashing firmware easily. This is mine.
