The real time inventory management is to increase the tension factor (no instant heal when you're low health) and also to allow for multiplayer capability. and of course, once we get used to it, we'll be quickly giving stuff to our partner in a snap
Added on January 28, 2009, 12:12 amOK finally played through the public assembly demo stage after my RE4 reflexes came back to me. that and noticing that when the big ass executioner comes at you, it means that the gate has been destroyed and you can run into a large open are with quite a bit of explosives around to help you burn mr executioner.
I like the way the coop AI partner works, using the B button properly is gonna be essential to survive the game I guess. Remember to use the B button to tell the AI to pick up handgun ammo and other stuff you deem useful to her. When someone's gropping you to give you a kiss, spam the B button as well as shake the stick so if she's near you she'll spin kick the enemy.
Interestingly when AI is in cover mode (B+Down) she always seems to use the handgun, and only pulls out secondary weapon when in attack mode (B+Up). Also in attack mode she behaves more like a real noob player, running around killing everything she sees, breaking barrels, and picking up stuff.
I can forsee a problem in the full game where if you use Attack mode wrongly you're gonna get her killed. Like just now when I was fighting the chainsaw dude, I left her on Attack mode so she wasn't following me from fleeing the guy.. Oooppsss.. head kena chainsawed...
Added on January 28, 2009, 12:16 amAnother thing to note about the demo.
Japan boxes (any still around?) have the control mode defaulted to TANK STYLE control (means the old RE style slow turn control)
Singapore boxes (and I guess other Asian boxes) has the more FPS friendly control style. Left stick to move, Right stick to rotate and aim. So if the controls don't feel like gears of war to you, go to options, and select control style D.
Oh.. still can't move while aiming though. Couldn't you do that in RE4?
