QUOTE(miyakochan89 @ Sep 1 2021, 08:46 AM) Hi all, i just cleaned my room curtain yesterday. And i find it a hassle to actually climb the ladder, unhook each of them, wash and then climb back up and hook them back. I find it a bit too ancient this method. Are there any new types of curtains that i can use without frequent washing? Would some sort of modern blinds good? My room is also semi facing the sunset so i do need some sort of good cover, and adjustable too. Thanks. Whether blinds or curtains, all need to be cleaned. Is either diy or engage a house cleaner.

QUOTE(miyakochan89 @ Mar 2 2022, 11:22 AM) are roller blinds effective in keeping the sun out? Can keep the 'light' out but not the heat.

QUOTE(miyakochan89 @ Mar 2 2022, 04:53 PM) so basically there are no materials that entirely keep the heat out unless you are talking about Nasa-insulated-technology. Anyways, there are also thicker roller blinds right? Im using very thick curtains right now, while they do their jobs and block the setting sun but I find them hard to clean, and also the fabric produces a lot of dusts, cause well they are clothes.... and rather have something simpler like roller blinds. Sun block curtain ...vacuum, then use garden hose to clean. All window shades will have lots of dust after sometime. Same as air cond filter. QUOTE(miyakochan89 @ Mar 3 2022, 10:04 AM) it's too big to vacuum, and too tall. I made it from the ceiling to floor. Besides, they start to disintegrate after a while. Just like any clothes. My curtains right now are deep wine red. And guess what when I vacuum around the floor? I see the dust inside my vacuum is all wine red colors. It means that the materials are disintegrating as i don't have any other red materials. So it's producing dusts itself. hahaha! ironically, it's one of the best materials out there when i made it cause i needed to block the sun. So im hoping that by changing to blinds, this will solve the problems. *fingers cross* I have wooden blinds, aluminium venetian blinds, roller blinds and bamboo blinds .... all same only. My wet kitchen I buy China made cheapo from Spotlight. I change every year during once a year cleaning. The rest I will take down to wash using garden hose. China made 30 bucks. Branded above 100 bucks This post has been edited by mini orchard: Mar 3 2022, 10:44 AM
