Anyone upgraded 50 to 100 yet?

TM just called me half an hour ago about the thank you speed upgrade. said they have set the appointment date for the technician to come upgrade speed this saturday.

from 50mbps to 100mbps btw.

what stuff do they need to change at my home? coz their riger router i ady cabut n factory reset, replaced with my Asus RT-N14UHP...should i put it back or something?

does it take a long time for TM to approve applications?

anyone here manage to get their 50mbps to 100mbps free upgrade ?

No bro.. BPL & UCL & La Liga still exclusive to astro.. We all know that if HyppTV want to success, they need to secure EPL broadcast right. But you know that, not all EPL will show to you LIVE with astro. Some astro will show delay telecast only. Sad.. only major high class team will be make sure to show LIVE..

Homeplug i already mentioned in the first place, there's a huge number of factor that will affect the experience for everyone.

Backdoor wise, there's a huge difference between deliberately planted backdoor versus innocent mistake backdoor bugs. And the fact that when the backdoor is publicly published, TM make it clear it was intentional and have no plan to rectify. Not only it would be a PR disaster for a normal company but also shows what kind of attitude they can have when they monopoly everything. Well that was many years ago. I'll give them the benefit of doubt that they improved over the years.

I understand the basic concept of VLAN. Its just that i'm no expert on networking when it comes to implementation and i just think there should be simpler way to do it.

On the installation, my parents were actually on site to explain what was my expectation and i supplemented over the phone in case he had further question. He just refused to listen, no question, no work done, period, not even as simple as testing if the concealed LAN cable is up for GBe. STB wise, the actual problem wasn't with testing but according to installer, he needs a display to set it up. Didn't understand why didn't it came pre-configured since. These are little things that can affect customer experience which happens when TM contract out jobs but spend no effort making proper training.

Again, these are personal experience, not a scenario that is applicable to anyone. There's room for improvement IMHO.

It is mandatory here for them to check the fibre attenuation and quality, upgrade the equipment and if any additional revision needed to be done in the premises.
Contractor came at 10.00am, got out at 10.04am, everything was worry free. His supervisor called me in the afternoon to check if everything was fine and made an apologies because the installer forgot to call me before he came despite they sent me an email confirmation that he would come over between 9am to 11am. What a service !
After i came back from work what i did was flip on the power switch and everything works as expected
Did a speed test on my 5 years old laptop with intel N6230 over wifi 15 feet away with two walls in between but this happened after what they tuned in within 4 minutes in the morning.

So pardon me for a lil show off and setting expectation for TM when i'm finally coming home next week.

Passing 300mbps mark, its just a bandwidth number game that you'll never able to utilize as casual home user. Time is already there, TM is almost there.

Here I have 2 TV streaming 4k netflix and hulu, one home laptop on torrent sometimes, one work laptop constantly connecting to work VPN, and i count at least another 15 devices that's using it on and off, i've never consumed more than 20% of the 2Gbps, ever.

The 50Mbps is insane. Comparing to 30Mbps. Download a file of 1GB it only took less than 3 mins.

guys, something weird happens, for years I use the 5 mbps package....usual max download speed was 5xx kbps....

but just like 4 hours ago something awesome happened....

my max download speed was 1mbps....I couldn't believe so I ran speed test and torrent few files for the past 2 hours and was still 1 Mbps download speed....

Does that mean my package is 10 mbps now?

Is like some Unifi promo going on or something?
