QUOTE(leezhijiang @ Jul 16 2017, 10:15 PM) Finally my UNIFI is here ( installed few days ago) after waiting for almost one month. The reason they gave is port full and they are not willing to install a new DP. Not DP, is Fiber Optical nodes are full.I just straightaway wrote an email to shoot the Prime Minister and Minister of Communication questioning their capability in managing TM and demand them to order TM to install DP ASAP or look for alternative solution not to delay my installation any longer. The next working day, I got call TM making appointment with me for installation. They arranged to have the cables dragged from other DP from the street behind my house. Location: USJ 6/6D So, conclusion here is TM will only do their job if the issue is escalated to MCMC |

QUOTE(Codroy @ Jul 19 2017, 12:35 AM) i live in 3rd floor au3 pkns flat. my 30mb unifi can only reach 15mb. is there anything i can do to fix this? seem the signal to my gateway also quite low (optimum is -12 but mine is -8). will re-wiring my phone line help? PKNS flat's infrastructure is very old, means all copper wiring, some might not in good quality. What TM do now is patch and fix if any issue on copper wire in your area. your area copper wire backbone not in good conditions and it wont help if you rewiring at your unit. |

QUOTE(Hummingbird @ Jul 19 2017, 10:35 AM) Well bro, it is not limited to east Malaysia. My hometown Batu Pahat is also gotten tied up with single provider and the real world progress is massively slower than what is reported outside, be it its own investor report or the public media. Yes , is proprietary provider in MAL, Why is it so hard to open up the competition if it is so hard for the incumbent to fulfill the demand? Basically TM is the one to purchase the huge pipeline of fibers from overseas then maxis, Time or others 3rd parties provider will buy from TM and roll over to offices or residential. so there is no competition, you have to accept it or adapt it. |

QUOTE(mihawk @ Jul 21 2017, 05:41 PM) Maxis was good, but when problem arises (e.g. no internet connection), they need both Maxis and TM technicians to come. So scheduling an appointment can take ages. yes this is the problemI see. Well, since the modem is under warranty anyway. If there's any problem i'll just call TM again. Maxis is using TM fiber infra to supply to residences. if Maxis internet got problems, Maxis cannot help you as fiber infra belongs to TM Therefore, any issue, at the end TM is the one to check NOT maxis. |

QUOTE(danieltay @ Jul 22 2017, 10:08 PM) Yup, has been experiencing 17days without internet with maxis, and have to call them a few times everyday to hantam them. If no call, easily have to wait one month. This is terrible..That is what happened when you outsourced the whole maxis ftth to subcontractor. And you can't blame them because most probably it's not profitable having rented your infra from someone else. Worst, maxis ftth implemented iPV6 yesterday and problems cannot be solved until today. Tons of websites are not accessible. For example Apple.com and lowyat forum as well. Their temporary solution to disable iPV6 is only good for pc and laptop. Tablet and phone still got stuck. These days people is using mobile device to surf net, limited to pc/laptop is simply ridiculous. How can you implement the iPV6 en mass without test? Kinda fed-up! Thought the Maxis services and TM can solve the issue at least 2 weeks. Och Now one month I can said IPV6 still in infant stage in Malaysia, as many users still using IPV4. For those users especially Corporate using Maxis IPV6 will face downtime then! In this case , Did Maxis revert to you when can resolve IPV6? |

All depends on your fiber node sharing.
If you alone to access, of course you will get full speed or more. If more neighborhood to share your fiber nodes, means broadband speed will be shared, then your speed will drop |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 24 2017, 03:36 PM) Err.. How to explain previously we didn't get full speed and now full speed? Takkan all our neighbours moved out? Also depends on what kind of apps they are using. If your neighborhoods are using streaming, play online games, heavy apps then the load of the speed will be drop If your neighborhood arel using browsing internet, email or light apps only, then your load of the speed should be good this is the different |

QUOTE(NyOx @ Jul 24 2017, 04:21 PM) it called contention ratio. it like 1:25 yes.can refer TM web for more. --> TM WEB if your area having lots of condo/apartment, then you should worry for overload usage. this is streaymx, 1:25. Means streamyx 8mbps in the your exchanges nodes shared by 25 neighborhoods near by. But in unifi contention ration should be less. For example my area is 1:7 contention ration Others should be more or less there either 1:10 or more |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 24 2017, 04:16 PM) Xefron has mentioned here that TM has updated our profile recently. Bro,There is no so much of coincidence, if it is just my neighourhood, I can understand, but how about the rest? From everywhere in Malaysia? They also claimed the same for higher speed these days. Moreover, I have relocated my UniFi from PJ to Seremban and still retaining 52Mbps. I was using it alone and now relocated back to my sister's house, her whole family is using it. I'm not living there. depends on locations TM quality infra in Malaysia, so so only. if you have purely fiber backbone, then your quality wise should be stability If your backbone is copper wire (mostly old area) TM will put VDSL to boost up the signal to support Unifi speed. Copper Wire quality wise a lot of noise means signal drop/loss, therefore, when reach to your house, your speed will be slow. |
