Guys, I just got the DIR850L router today. I am currently using my ASUS RT-AC1200HP, can I use the DIR850 as a wireless AP ? I see AP and Repeater mode only in the setup menu. Thanks in advance.

Many still fail to understand as Jio mentioned, if you receiving device is not capable (notebook, phone, etc) obviously the bandwidth is gonna be lesser.
I have DIR850L as well, The max on 2.4 is 144Mbps The max on 5Ghz is 6XXMbps This post has been edited by VeeJay: Jun 22 2017, 11:01 PM |

QUOTE(peanjo @ May 11 2017, 12:08 AM) Because DIR-850 Wireless N (2.4Ghz) channel wide is only 20mhz and most device wifi adapter inside your device only support 1 stream for wireless N so you'll get at most 50mbps. Have link for ddwrt for DIR-850L?Or you can flash it to ddwrt and use 40mhz channel, probably will get 100mbps provided no wifi interference from other device using the 2.4Ghz band. Didn't test personally with dir850, do so at your own risk Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks |

Don't have DIR-850L now. I get 68mbps with DIR-615 & iPhone 6s.
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=87190299 With a Mikrotik hAP AC Lite, for 2.4Ghz, dual stream 20Mhz and single stream, 40Mhz, highest I get is 108-109mbps. I think can go a bit more higher but test limited by Unifi 100mbps. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=87547848 |

On 5GHZ wireless, How do I set to WiFi channel below 149 on this router? My nintendo switch can't connect to it. The same router at home can set it to Channel 40, but my office router only can set it to channel 149 and above?

QUOTE(duckaton @ May 12 2017, 04:26 PM) Facing the same problem. my experience:https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=84701742 Wonder if anybody who upgraded to expensive router can get 100Mpbs on 2.4ghz it is illogical, even when laptop beside router also cannot get 100Mpbs tplink wdr4300, not exactly an expensive router. One of my PCs use asus usb n14 2.4Ghz wifi receiver can get 100Mbps router was placed just outside the room |
