Has anyone installed a Malossi Multivar Variator on a stock NVX 155?

IF so, what are your findings? They come with a yellow contra spring and 9.5g rollers which are quite a few grams lighter then the stock ones (i think they are 14g), so it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on its performance vs stock variator.

Everything is the same spec, except for colour changes. Depending on where you buy, the average 2020 price should still be the same as 2019 prices too.

Also please remember that Malaysia only offer the absolute top of the range NVX/AEROX 155, with everything included, and i like that.

I'm loving my NVX/AEROX....thank you Yamaha for making the best sports scooter in the world!

The new second generation 2021 Yamaha Aerox / NVX 155 has just been unveiled in Indonesia.

Interested to hear thoughts on the design changes. I personally think the first generation still looks better.
The new one looks a bit fussy in the front side fender, and the headlights look a bit too big. The X signature panel on the side is less pronounced as an X, and its lost the big V panel on the front too.
While i still think its a good looking bike, and it was wise to not try change it too much, i think the 1st generation is better looking, with a cleaner, bolder, more pure Yamaha design language, but new one is still nice.

The 2021 claim a very slight increase in power and torque, but the weight has gone up too....now 125kg.

Tech changes.....
Power - 1st Gen 11kw/8000rpm vs 2nd Gen 11.3kw/8000rpm
Torque - 1st Gen 13.8nm/6250rpm vs 2nd Gen 13.9nm/6500rpm
Compression Ratio - 1st Gen 10.5:1 vs 2nd Gen 11.6:1
Weight - 1st Gen 118kg vs 2nd Gen 125kg
Power to weight ratio - given the above information, the 1st Gen works out at a slight advantage.

Length - 1st Gen 1990mm vs 2nd Gen 1980mm (2nd Gen is 10mm shorter)
Width - 1st Gen 700mm vs 2nd Gen 700mm (Same)
Height - 1st Gen 1125mm vs 2nd Gen 1150mm (2nd Gen is 25mm higher). I prefer the lower handlebar height, giving a sportier riding position.
Wheelbase - 1st Gen 1350mm vs 2nd Gen 1350mm (Same)
Ground Clearance - 1st Gen 142mm vs 2nd Gen 143mm (Lets call it the same)
Tank - 1st Gen 4.6L vs 2nd Gen 5.5L (2nd Gen increase Tank capacity by .9L). This is a good thing.
Wheel and Tyre sizes and design are the same.

Does anyone know the brand & model of these side mirrors i've seen on a youtube video?

I have thoroughly searched the entire internet on images, but i cannot see them anywhere. There are a couple that look similar, but not as good as this one.

Oem fuel tank can get maximum how big?

I've seen the following sizes advertised specific for Aerox.......6L / 8.2L / 9L. If you google "Aerox larger tank", and see images, this will show what is available and where to buy.

I must say, its great to see Yamaha was clever enough to continue the production and sale of the 1st generation Aerox along side the 2nd generation version, in there biggest markets. (Malaysia & Singapore remain exclusively with the just the 1st gen for the time being)
The 1st gen price bracket offers a cheaper entry point, and a pure Yamaha design language that many still prefer over the 2nd gen, and probably always will, since it's become rather iconic and timeless.
It would be interesting to see how the sales figures compare between 1st Gen and 2nd Gen.

Indonesia - 1st Gen / 2nd Gen
Thailand - 1st Gen / 2nd Gen
Vietnam - 1st Gen / 2nd Gen
Malaysia - 2nd Gen
Philippines - 2nd Gen
Singapore - 1st Gen (From Thailand Factory)

All have there own Yamaha factories except Singapore.
In summery, Yamaha have simply expanded the Aerox/NVX range, and i'm sure in my opinion, many will continue to choose the cheaper entry point and better looks of the 1st Gen, over the pricier 2nd Gen with slightly more tech and bigger tank....but its great they offer both just the same.

Yes i think its just a matter of time before they bring in the 2nd Gen. But it will be interesting to see if they offer both 1st Gen & 2nd Gen like the other bigger markets.

Update: Malaysia has just replaced the 1st Gen for the 2nd Gen. So the smaller Malaysian market, has just joined the Philippines, and only offer the 2nd generation version.

It should be O.K. I've still got the original battery from when the bike was delivered brand new back in September 2019, and i have only covered 2400kms....i only use it sparingly, and there have been times without use for 2 months.
