Easy, Canon PowerShot A530
Quality is superb for the price, only lose to dSLRs and cameras with Image Stabilization. And in case u get serious, or any1 around u does, u get a full MANUAL mode to play with. Not to mention it'll cost u so lil, like way less than RM 600 if u do some searching (maybe a hint over RM 500). Spendin the extra money on a set of battery and memory card will still put u below ur budget. U win! Edit: Its discontinued already, so get it while u still can. Its quality is the SAME as the camera that replaces it. The 1 that replaces it get a bigger, less resolution (for the size) screen, a little more resolution (which is not important) and u lose the panorama stitch assist mode (if u ever use it). I think canon ixus 60 is quite good.
You can bring it with you anywhere as its slim and not heavy. However, it does not have image stabilisation. Make sure you have steady hands xD |

No. It does not have IS. If u want IS, U gotta pay big money. A670IS is the cheapest i think. or IXUS 70, which is exp.

QUOTE(hongchiang @ Mar 24 2007, 03:11 PM) if you want to take night photo, vheck out fuji F series like F20, F30, F31. you can use it's low noise high ISO mode to take night shots. i always use ISO400~800 on my F30 to take good night shots of people. canon cam is good for outdoor shots |

if u want to play around/practise with lot of functions, i propose A570IS, just that the size is a bit bulky, that is normal for entry level dc
