Those that use flip cover casing like I do, it's almost impossible to use the rear fingerprint sensor if u flip your cover to the back. The cover totally blocks the sensor. I'd say this is the single most design failure for the S8 to have fingerprint sensor at the rear.
Other than that do u guys feel the scrolling is kinda judder/ jerky? Feels my S7E scrolls smoother than this phone. Even scrolling through this lyn thread feels so.
Wth just received a call claiming from Samsung (03-7720 0400) to confirm my warranty is already registered for 1 year. I asked him about the 2nd year extended warranty. He said not sure and that I have to call Samsung Careline to check those 😐
just wait for premium warranty email. nth to worry they wont scam ppl here.
Got it bro

i got nothing but a sms only from samsung, no email, no phone call..
I got the SMS too and today, weird enough I got a call which is the first time. I purchased so many Samsung device in the past where I only get SMS.
And yeah, for all who guessed, Samsung warranty has always been 1 yr + 2 weeks. Even when I buy tablets from Samsung, it's always been 1 yr + 2 weeks. That's the standard warranty.
Problem with the Navbar is that when I am watching web streaming video in full screen, the Navbar is still there which is kinda annoying. Any way to set it to autohide like Windows Taskbar?
very slight pink at 0. if go setting 3= -9, more green. my current setting 2= -6, slightly green.
I use ip7+ as my main phone and in fact, I find that my ip7+ is even redder than the S8+ when set at 0 or 1. I left my S8+ set at 1 (+3) and find the slight red tint soothing to the eyes. I prefer warm tint than green or cool tint.
i post video from unbox therapy long time ago dy ma, Samsung S8 red values based on hardware reader is around 68-72 while iphone 7 is around 85-88..
So yeah..
Yeah bro..so S8 red tint is essentially a non issue...just blown out of proportion by members of the public which is sensitive with Samsung after the Note7 fiasco.
The problem with this red-tint issue is not because of the red-tint itself but because its inconsistent, i.e. it affects top but not the bottom of the screen or vice versa, or it affect just the edges of the screen..
this makes it more noticeable, like a DEFECT. If it was the whole screen being reddish, people wouldnt mind it as much. See below, red tint so inconsistent, its annoying to look at.
I'd say its due to how the AMOLED sheet is cut or maybe the polarizer sheet is placed inaccurately. A few degrees off and you will see the colour variations. It is the same as when you look at the screen sideways or at an angle say 45 degrees.....when you look at it in different degrees, the colour changes....so if the polarizer and the AMOLED sheet is placed at inconsistent angles, you get this problem.
yeap so it is an issue, and you cant blame people for being unhappy because of it.
One doesnt expect to get such problems on their devices especially at that price point that we have to pay for it.
Furthermore, previous generations of phones whether S or Note series didn't have such inconsistencies whether due to manufacturing process or whatever..
But its not to say Samsung kept a closed eye on it. Samsung acknowledged about this issue although trying to cover their ass by saying its not an "issue" and could be "fixed" by software, but at least they kept true to their promise that if the user still couldnt solve it via software updates they could return their devices to get an exchange.
Just my 2 cents on this and speaking from my experience of unboxing four brand new S8..
My unit is very very minimal red tint so I've no complaints lol
Coz I tested both the S8 and S8+ and getting my finger on the awkward finger-print sensor of the S8 is easier than the S8+, ha ha ha. Anyways, didn't want too go big coz in all likelihood I will sell the S8 off when the next iPhone comes to town. 4-5 hours SOT is enough to get me through the day, same as the Note 5 I had previously.
Bro, I'm ip7+ user too and I can tell u that you won't be using the S8/8+ fingerprint sensor much. Because you will be using Iris scanner. So S8+ all the way. When ip8 comes I believe S8+ is a more popular choice and therefore can sell easier.
