1. I dont turn on AOD so that doesn't concerned me.
2. I adjust my screen brightness whenever I like to ease my eyes from soreness or being too bright will hurt my eyes if i'm reading a book or whenever I'm indoor or in the office.
3. I disabled the AOD because I dont like to see the clock widget always on the display, I have my fitbit easy to reach out to check timing.
4. Disable some functions because I only need them when necessary like NFC, I wont be using them almost 99% of my time. Turning them on when needed wont hurt your extra time turning most of the phones functions on and off are easy to reach from scrolling the notification bar down.

AOD actually shows more than just clock. It give u notifications, date time and battery percentage without the need to wake the phone.

Auto brightness should solve the issue when u do not need it to be so bright.

Althou all the NFC, GPS, etc are just a slide down and a click away but u need to unlock the phone and extra steps to do all these hassle so i'm leaving these on and it doesnt actually consume more battery than it was already. For example, to use samsung payi just hardpress home button and slide up to scan my finger print to pay. NFC is much more easier cause i'm using it to pay transit fare in SG which i just tap my phone to the reader without the need to even wake my phone.

anyone know whats the slimmest casing for S8?
*
Slimmest casing the one comes with original packaging. The attached back panel glass casing rclxs0.gif

Else those like spigen thin fit / liquid air or Samsung original clear cover very slim imo

Ofcos the phone get better chance to survive a drop with thicker casing meant to absorb shock better.

If you just want to have scratch resistance protection and yet want it to be slim can consider clear coat which cover front back and corners. Essentially its just sp so doesnt add noticeable weight or bulk to the phone.

wonder really many people buy s8?
i hardly see anyone using it at JB/SG
actually never see anyone holding/using it.
*
Cause everyone is hiding it behind a casing. Hahaha..

But also cause some has 2 phones i guess. My GF for one she is still using mostly her S6 while she is outside for gaming and hide her S8+ inside the bag sweat.gif

Lol sorry, what i mean is the finger print sensor accurate? And would u always end up touching the camera lens?
*
Yes, very accurate for me and it unlock almost instantly every time. But i registered both index fingers twice so utilizing all 4 slots for fingerprints. I guess that help to improve accuracy cool2.gif

I'm using samsung casing now and its quite easy to reach actually. There is a divider between fingerprint sensor and camera so that comes in very handy.

Using spigen previously and I end up touching camera lens all the while.

To those that use the clear coat, do you feel that the front sp a bit "soft"? For some reason mine feels like there's a soft layer. And if I press using fingernails I can see the mark on the sp. Is it the same for u guys?
*
It's not glass but film so it is soft. It does claim to self heal on fine scratches but I definitely won't risk to test it by hard press the sp with fingernail..it won't be a "fine" scratch with fingernail lo
