Went to Pyramid just now. Some of the display units at the road show has minor red tint.

Heres what I feel. My device has moderate red tint meaning that the top half has red tint but not too bad. This can be reduced.

1. Turn on Adaptive Display. Over time this seems to correct the redness till very low or none left.

I think using *#0*# sets the display filtering to basic because suddenly the redness becomes very obvious.

Adjusting the *#<long number*# setting seems to make the screen more red or more blue which is not to my liking. I left it at default.

Adjusting the edge coolness/warmness seems to make the edges too blue or too red. I left it at default.

Now I'm wondering if I should exchange until I get a perfect display or should I leave it since its not too bad and doesnt really bother me?

Interesting observation in point 1. I dunno if my eyes are playing tricks on me but I too seem to have notice the red tint lessening over time. To the point where I can leave everything at default now.

My other theory is that it's just placebo effect for me from the start. I thought there's a red tint but when I show my friends (graphic designer who have a good eye for colour temperature), they don't see any redness - in fact more green tint than red in their opinion.

Not saying there is no red tint issue but I'm slightly relieved that the red tint issue seemed to have worked itself out, regardless if it's just mind tricks.

That's why I found it interesting that you think the adaptive display mode could be the problem solver

Seems Samsung as Huawei is also involved in "cheating" consumers about its ufs type storage
I checked mine and is ufs 2.1

Thanks for sharing. Relieved to know mine is UFS2.1, although in practical use may not notice the difference.

how u did it? hmm.gif
if normal keys wont scratch it lo

Scratches can happen from sand or dust particles as well I think

As for clear coat, the surface is self healing so the mark or scratches you see will disappear over time. Clear coat is a great investment so far for me as I don't use cases. I can place the phone onto any surface without fear of scratches.

Plus it reduce finger print marks and adds to the grippiness of the phone.

Money well spent thanks to Velocity's discount biggrin.gif

among reason i stopped using clear coat last time when using note7, feel rubbery and not so smooth (especially when using spen)... pity because i like their lifetime warranty.

Yeah can see why the rubbery surface is not so suitable for the S-Pen.
