COFFEE MACHINE REVIEW
## 2 Group Commercial Magister ES100 STILO ## (Basic model with no options)
(New) Price: RM 12,330 [PM me]
Power: 4500 W, 18.8 A, 240 V
Boiler: 11 L
Weight: 68 kg
Size: 500 H 535 D 795 W (mm)
## Review ##
- Milk Frothing: Power = High. Extra-smooth & silky frothing. Min froth 260 ML (for 2x 8 Oz cup). Consistent & large margin of error. Froth time per cup = ~4 seconds
- Feel: Stainless steel, industrial grade plastic trimmings for looks on the sides.
- Difference: Normal look but superb design. Has a bottom cover & anti-drip top cover to avoid water from cups above to drip water into the machine. This design would make it highly rust resistant.
## The Good ##
- Looks pretty decent, gives a traditional Italian espresso machine look
- Espresso making is consistent, easy & fantastic. On my 1st attempt I got 24.7 seconds (out of 25 seconds). That is like 99% a perfect shot (see video below).
- Really good buy ($ for what you get)
- Milk frothing: Margin of error = normal, able to do extra-smooth frothing for experienced Barista
- Design of froth wand is perfect , for purge & auto-frothing. Also has a marker to make it easier to judge level of froth wand in milk.
- Froth wand knob feels solid. This part wears off the most.
- Copper lined boiler, tubes & pipes to ensure your water is good (copper increases quality of water, normally used in commercial distils)
- Large boiler @ 11 L , most 2G of this price range has a 4-7 L boiler. Larger boiler = better temp for froth & espresso extraction.
- Good design, this machine is design to last & endure.
- I've tested this on a 12A socket (normal socket) , and it works! Wow. It does reduce the power of the frothing slightly. Useful for roadshows/events
- Slightly more portable design that makes it slightly easier to carry (compared to other 2G)
## The Bad ##
- You need to froth 2 cups (8 Oz cup) at one time, unless if you opt for the "froth wand option"
- No light @ the portafilter. If your cafe = dark = harder to see
- Traditional look, may not be suitable for those who want a more contemporary & funky design
- 20A Isolator would be recommended for long term use (cost RM 1500)
