Just want to ask, if I have a cash back credit card, do I still get reward points from spending with that card?

It's already appeared in your CCRIS. Always make it a habit to call to cancel cards which you don't need.

Thanks for the info. Will do.

Just applied for ambank cc recently and on my first statement they said the 2x free airport lounge access must have RM500 spent within 30 days before or after the access date...it is not interesting anymore...should I cut this? Just activated last month.

Saw this news on The Edge. So we will get charged with RM25 a year for each card we hold?

KUALA LUMPUR (July 19): Service tax on credit or charge cards, which was scrapped when the goods and services tax was implemented back in 2015, has made its way back in the proposed new model for the sales and services tax (SST), which is deemed SST 2.0, that is due to be implemented on Sept 1.

According to the Royal Malaysian Customs website, under the Frequently Asked Questions on Service Tax, the following was stated as Question 35:

Q: Will I be charged RM25 on existing credit or charge card on Sept 1, 2018?

A: The existing effective period of the card will not be subject to service tax of RM25 until the next annual renewal.

In other words, the service tax of RM25 on each credit or charge card that an individual owns will be charged upon renewal of the card.

It should be noted that the amount is less compared to the old service tax model. Under the old service tax model, a service tax of RM50 a year on each principal credit card and charge card, and a service tax of RM25 a year on each supplementary card was implemented.

Under SST 2.0 the RM25 charge will be applied to each credit or charge card, regardless if it is a principal or supplementary card.

Current cards:

1. CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum Master - first card since 2017, salary account. One instalment until Aug 2020. Was about to cut since they revise the CB rate but the weekend dining 12% is too good to give up (ending 31 May 2020)

2. AmBank Bonuslink Gold Visa - mainly for Shell.. but Bonuslink point are so useless. And the card itself has no other perks, advise? My petrol usage is not much anyway, <RM200/month

3. Public Bank Quantum Master - currently use to max out 5% RM30 CB for BigPay reload.

4. Hong Leong Sutera Visa
5. Hong Leong GSC Master - got these two simply for the sign up rewards (RM50 x 4 weekends rebate) + 10 free tickets

Should I axe some of them? Is it bad to have so many CCs? How to optimise?
