May i know which bank offers the lowest exchange rate and lowest conversion/admin charges for overseas transaction?
I remebered that i used mbb cc in hong kong few years ago without extra charges apart from exchange conversion.
Just called up mbb today, and was informed the conversion charges for visa/master is about 2.25% and amex 2.5%.
Could anyone shed some light?

Thanks
*
As I know which is PBB/Ambank/Aeon.

Hi, currently I am holding a CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum MC, meanwhile interested in another card from CIMB, how do I proceed from here? Terminate the current card first or go ahead apply the other card?

dont be lazy and post more details.

1) what bank? public bank?
2) what card?
3) if pbb, flexipay? if not, what type of installment program?
4) have you checked the T&C of the installment program? any early settlement fee?
5) are you sure you have remaining 4 months left? do you know how to read the info on the statement? i assume u know since you're going to settle the balance.
6) what is your card's statement date?

Is there any local/foreign website now that won't request for OTP/MSOS code?

fruitie any thoughts on this?

Not that I'm aware of. Well, I'm not too worried about this unless you are so unlucky that targeted by the merchant. Usually I will be around when they perform PayWave, I don't allow any merchant to use PayWave without my permission. For PIN & Pay, obviously I have to be present to input PIN.

I have come across a few websites / apps that do not require OTP / TAC to confirm the CC transaction. Those are the ones that usually use foreign payment gateway. One way to prevent unauthorized transactions on sites that do not require OTP / TAC is to not enable CNP (Card Not Present) transactions. This way, all such transactions including MOTO (Mail Order Telephone Order) cannot go through. Only enable it if you need to use it.

Any ways to go about that? Or do we call CS every time? I know CIMB can allow/disallow overseas transactions but didn't notice any CNP.

Hi guys, I recently just started using my Maybank 2 Cards and currently have around RM1k+ in outstanding balance in it. The minimum payment amount is RM68 but I paid RM100 instead. Is this good enough?

Hi, It is good to pay Rm100, the remaining outstanding will be imposed with interest. Suggest to pay full, otherwise, it is not a good discipline for having a credit card. You will be getting deeper and deeper of your debt if you don't settle in full.

straight answer: NO!

you should not use cc at all if you continue with this cc repayment practice.

reason: read above explanation.

Yes, I know this may not be the best practice and I've actually never used my CC like this before. Normally I will use it for small purchases and pay the full amount. But last month I had an emergency and had to use the CC to pay. So I just want to know if how I am paying the balance is okay-ish. Of course paying off the full amount is ideal.

P/S: I am not planning to use my CC any further until I pay off all the outstanding balance.

if possible, please try to make complete payment to clear statement balance by due date.

usually, you would have +20 days after statement date to clear the outstanding in your statement.

pay according to details listed in your statement.

if just pay min or not full, the remaining balance will attract interest, and it's not pretty as the rate is high.

Sorry to hear that. But there is 2 option for you to minimize the intreset:
1) Do you have other bank credit card which provide 0% BT? If yes, apply for BT and convert to 6 months/12months 0% intrest.
2) If you do not have the above, try you call your CC to convert your outstanding balance/transaction to installment. Although there is still interest imposed, at least it is lesser.

I don't know if i am correct understanding on the above, but you may call your bank for further clarification.

Thanks for the information.

First, how do we disable CNP? By calling CS?

By disabling CNP, does this means that online payment won't go through and only physical card swipe will be approved?
