Which is the best credit card for shopping on US-based websites? I noticed transactions failed several times for certain US sites like Amazon etc using Maybank & CIMB cards. Would credit cards issued by international banks like Citibank, Standard Chartered etc be any better?

Thanks.

I have paid few times for Amazon US with my UOB YOLO, no issue.

Not necessary you must get a Credit Card.
You can have Mastercard / Visa debit card instead.
Credit card and Debit card are equally accepted.

Some said telco bills outstanding will also cause CCRIS issue, I cannot validate this. However, I didn't see it in my CCRIS for my postpaid accounts.
Some time back, one guy did mention it is due to his telco blacklist issue.

It's already appeared in your CCRIS. Always make it a habit to call to cancel cards which you don't need.

I got this newly approved credit card which was a Gold, how soon and how to upgrade to Platinum?
At time of application, my past 4 months EPF contribution were still at pre-increment level despite a salary increment.
I have since reflected to my boss and my boss has promptly topped up the contribution, in which to total add up for every month qualifies me for platinum card.

It is up to bank to approve your application or not, you will need to request to convert and upgrade the card.

Start with your salary crediting bank, I hope it's not MBB or PBB. sweat.gif
Heard Citibank is quite easy.

Anyway, any missed payment for PTPTN?

fruitie, cards that come in a pair like the CIMB CR + Petronas/Tesco cannot be cancelled right? This is from the staff who called offering to increase combined credit limit for existing cards.

Tried calling card centre twice just now but on hold for too long. Will try again later this evening.

I got my CIMB CR separately, not a pair, I believe you may cancel only one, unless CIMB doesn't allow.

Can.
I just applied CIMB CR, later received additional 3 cards(Petronas, Enrich and Tesco).
Called CS to cancel those 3 cards and remain CIMB CR.

Thanks.

Start with salary crediting bank (as Fruitie said)
Or try UOB. It's my first credit card when I had just work for 3-6 months (I don't even have savings account with them)

Hi guys, I got a few questions to ask. So I now got one hong leong gsc credit card with 4k debt including two easy payment plans on it which have another 6 months repayment. I was thinking of balance transfer to Maybank.

My questions are,
-Can you transfer over the easy payment plans as well? Or will it stick with the HLB credit card and only transfer rest of the balance over?

-does balance transfer affect my credit rating?
