QUOTE(real55555 @ Jan 18 2019, 10:48 AM) So its the first month of the year and its the time to pay those government cukai pintu, tanah etc I used to use Hong Leong Sutera to pay on weekend, because they used to award 3x points on weekend on all types of transactions, guess they have ammended it and no point awarded now for these payments. 1. So would like to ask all experts here which card best to use for these transactions?p.s. I also just got my cimb enrich credit card last month and according to their ongoing programme named "CIMB Enrich Acquisition", spending 3k/6k/18k within 2 months of approval date will be awarded 10k/30k/60k enrich points respectively which is very generous. I've read through the terms and conditions and government spending is not excluded from the calculation of the spending, which I found quite surprise because they excluded insurance and takaful expenses but not government charges? hmmm... 2. So my question is anyone able to clarify on this? Will reach 18k easily if cukai pintu can be included in the spending.try ask here

QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 16 2019, 05:10 PM) consult the bank. vendor has nothing to do. but u must clear all outstanding before terminate a card. u can pay full amout, or u can also BT to another credit 1st then after clear only terminate the previous card. but do note that most installment plan got penalty for early termination example rm100. do check it with your bank thank you very much. That is really helpful

Hi All Sifus,
Am a newbie to credit cards & need you guys advises.
I saw from CIMB website about the fees & charges for credit cards. Apart from the late payment charge, they did highlight the finance charge for retail transaction section:
1.25% per month or 15% per annum if you have promptly settled your minimum due for 12 consecutive months.
Can anyone pls explain what's the meaning of that clause?
My understanding is that as long as we r able to settle our monthly statement, there shouldnt be any charges or penalty except the amount that we had swipe/spent in the shops right?

Want to ask you, Pay full statement balance before Due Date or Statement Date Example; Payment Due Date 14th Statement Date 25th because i see PAYABLE FACILITY CHARGES on 25th. If i pay minimum before 14th then i pay full before 25th. I can still avoid any charges? This post has been edited by khairilhusni: Jan 22 2019, 10:50 PM

Statement date has nothing to do with payment date.

It doesn't seem like there's any thread to discuss sign-up rewards. This can be one of the most lucrative part of having a CC (such that some people cancel cards just to wait out the 6 month period for re-application).
'Normal' rewards are luggage bag etc., but sometimes there are things like Lazada/Shopee vouchers, handphones, smartwatches, electronics etc.
What's the best CC sign-up reward you yourself have obtained? Including through ringgitplus/comparehero etc. website sign up?

Correct me if im wrong, i want to be sure of this as well. late pay charge is something like this right? even if we pay minimum payment, we still kene that 1.5% fee (if per annum 18%)? is that the one in statement listed as management charges?

Management charges are Islamic carm terms for interest. If bank don't get minimum payment by due date they will charge late payment + interest.
