Congratulations, we are the Champion. Let make it a double with FA cup, shall we? biggrin.gif

TLDR:
-Pogba says Kante not score more goals than him. But our 2-man Kante is intercepting more balls than Pogba, if statistics below is anything to go by.
Attached Image

-FA Quarter-final is where we see Pogba poor against Kante when Kante scored that goal. Pogba even doing less tackles.
-If China club come knocking Costa door, we may have to sell Michy Batshuayi and Diego Costa in order to fund a £100 million deal for Romelu Lukaku.
-Real Madrid 31 years old midfielder Luka Modric anyone?
-Everton want our defender Baba Rahman, the defender is on loan to Schalke.
-Conte wish list: Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko and Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.
-Chelsea interestes to sign German Under-17 captain, Hamburg youngster Jann-Fiete Arp. Part of loan army likely.
-Arsenal want bid £50M for Alvaro Morata.
-Chelsea scouted Bournemouth defender Adam Smith. We will have to fight Tottenham for his signature.
-Leicester City 26 years old winger Riyad Mahrez anyone? He praises Chelsea as "real club".

Paul Pogba hits out at N’Golo Kante comparisons ahead of Manchester United v Chelsea

Paul Pogba has hit out at comparisons between himself and N’Golo Kante and is frustrated by claims he does not score enough goals for Manchester United.

The France international arrived at Old Trafford for a world-record fee in the summer but has seen his own performances largely overshadowed by Chelsea’s midfield general.

Pogba has been criticised for a lack of goals and assists, scoring just four times in the Premier League and just three assists.

But the 24-year-old believes he does not get enough credit for what he does on the pitch.

‘Kante is a top class midfielder but he doesn’t score many goals but they don’t talk about this. He gets the ball, he passes the ball.

BY ROBERT REDMOND
Paul Pogba was terrible against Chelsea on Monday night in the FA Cup quarter-final.

Yes, Manchester United were reduced to 10 players, and it's perhaps a little unfair to single out one player. Ander Herrera's first-half dismissal made the job of every United player more difficult, and especially so his midfield partner Pogba.

However, there's no escaping how poor the French midfielder was.

Pogba made just two tackles in the entire game and lost possession a staggering 21 times, more than any other player on the pitch.

But one moment sums up just how awful he was, and it was Kante's decisive goal.

This might seem obvious but Pogba's part in Kante's goal was strangely overlooked by the pundits on BBC's coverage - Alan Shearer, Frank Lampard and Phil Neville.

The trio were right to praise Kante, but Pogba was awful.

The 23-year-old made a lame attempt to close Kante down, allowing the Chelsea midfielder to hit a strike past David de Gea.

For a player who is meant to be a brilliant athlete, Pogba's attempt to close down his opponent resembled something from a five-a-side game between a group of mates.

His action before that was just as dumbfounding.

Willian had the ball on the edge of United's penalty area. Marouane Fellaini was in front of him, with Antonio Valencia behind, forcing the Chelsea forward to pass the ball back inside.

Gary Cahill pointed towards Kante, who has a lot of space in front of him. Pogba also saw him and pointed. But it's not clear who the hell who he wanted to close down Kante.

You're the closest United player to him, Paul!

Pogba was either too lazy to close Kante down himself, or was completely unaware of his surroundings. Either way, it's damning on the world's most expensive midfielder.

Kante's performance further highlighted Pogba's deficiencies. The Chelsea midfielder was once, again, brilliant.

Michy Batshuayi sale considered to fund £100 million Romelu Lukaku transfer
GOSSIP
Coral Barry for Metro.co.uk Sunday 14 May 2017 11:18 pm

Chelsea are ready to sell Michy Batshuayi and Diego Costa in order to fund a £100 million deal for Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.

Batshuayi was an unlikely hero for Chelsea last Friday as he scored a late winner against West Brom that clinched the title for the Blues.
Chelsea paid £33 million to snare Batshuayi last summer, but he has yet to make a Premier League start for the club.
Batshuayi has struggled to dislodge Costa and Chelsea are ready to part ways with the young prospect to fund the pursuit of their No.1 target, Lukaku, according to the Mirror.

Chelsea are also prepared to sell Costa to raise the money for a deal with the Blues aware they may have to pay up to £100 million to sign the Everton striker.
Costa is considering offers from several clubs including China where several stars have headed in recent months to pick up gigantic wages.

Chelsea Transfer News: Shock Modric move, Everton want £14m star, £200m spending spree

EXPRESS SPORT brings you the latest Chelsea transfer news.

By DAVID WRIGHT
PUBLISHED: 16:12, Sun, May 14, 2017 | UPDATED: 16:12, Sun, May 14, 2017

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric could make a return to the Premier League this summer.

That is according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, who claim Chelsea are interested in the former Tottenham midfielder, along with Arsenal.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is said to be open to the idea of selling the 31-year-old in order to bring in younger players.

Everton have reportedly contacted Chelsea about signing defender Baba Rahman.

Chelsea signed the Ghana international for an initial £14million in 2015, but he failed to make an impression under Jose Mourinho and was loaned out to Schalke this season.

The Daily Mail claim Everton are keen on signing the 22-year-old, but it's likely he'll return to Schalke for another loan spell.

The Guardian say Antonio Conte is set for a £200m spending spree this summer.

The Italian, who guided Chelsea to the Premier League title this season, is reportedly keen on signing Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko and Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk are also said to be on Conte's shortlist.

EVERTON REGISTER INTEREST IN RAHMAN

Everton have expressed an interest in signing Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman, though the 22-year-old is poised to return to Schalke on loan, The Daily Mail reports.

Rahman spent this campaign on a season-long loan to the Bundesliga side but suffered a torn knee ligament in January while playing for Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations.

ARSENAL & CHELSEA IN MODRIC CHASE

Real Madrid's Luka Modric could be on the move in the summer, according to Diario Gol .

Chelsea, Arsenal, PSG and Bayern Munich are all interested in the Croatia international midfielder, and with Zinedine Zidane focused on making his side more youthful, he could be allowed to leave.

CHELSEA EYE GERMANY STARLET

Chelsea are among a host of to European clubs chasing the signature of Hamburg youngster Jann-Fiete Arp, according to Bild .

The Germany Under-17 captain has been turning heads with his performances at international level, bagging two hat-tricks for his country at the UEFA U-17 Championship in Croatia.

The Blues face stiff competition for the teenager's signature, though, with Borussia Dortmund and Champions League finalists Juventus also keen.

ARSENAL TO LAUNCH £50M MORATA BID

Arsenal are ready to bid for Chelsea and Manchester United target Alvaro Morata this summer, according to a report in The Sun .

The Real Madrid striker has grown frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities in Spain and is looking to leave, with Antonio Conte's Blues leading the chase.

However, Arsene Wenger is willing to sanction a £50m bid as he prepares for the possibility of having to replace Alexis Sanchez, who looks increasingly likely to leave the club.

SPURS & CHELSEA BATTLE FOR SMITH

Chelsea and Tottenham are set to go head-to-head to sign Bournemouth defender Adam Smith, according to The Sun .

Smith began his career at Spurs and the club are considering a bid to re-sign him as a possible replacement for Kyle Walker, who has been heavily linked with Manchester City.

The Blues, meanwhile, are understood to have scouted the 26-year-old in the 2-2 draw with Stoke, and will watch him again when the Cherries face Burnley.

Riyad Mahrez caught praising Chelsea with Leicester teammate Islam Slimani before City loss
By Omar Hamouda 13th May 2017

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez may have dominated the headlines today for his scuffed penalty against Manchester City, but ahead of the game he appeared to reveal his admiration for Chelsea.
The Leicester star had the chance to level the scores against Manchester City earlier today from the penalty spot, but fluffed the spot-kick.

Mahrez actually scored the penalty, but only after slipping and kicking the ball off one foot onto the other one and into the net.

Rules state that penalty takers can only have one touch of the ball before a member of the opposition must touch it next, but what was perhaps even more interesting was Mahrez’s comments before the game.

Footage has emerged of Mahrez walking into the Etihad today alongside team-mate and fellow Algerian Islam Slimani after getting off the team bus.

The pair can be heard talking in French, but Mahrez’s comments to Slimani were picked up by the waiting cameras, with the winger hailing Chelsea after their title triumph on Friday.

According to SFR Sport, Slimani starts the discussion by saying ‘hey, Chelsea are champions!’. Mahrez then replies by saying ‘they’re an incredible club, a real club’.

The 26-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last summer before he ended up signing a new deal with Leicester, although reports this week suggest he is set to leave the Foxes in the summer window.

Agree. Hear Pep does not put Tackling as part of his team practice from a news somewhere hmm.gif

I curious why Chelsea would scout this Bournemouth defender, Adam Smith. We certainly need reinforcement in defenders department next season. With Mr Chelsea leaving, we need reinforcements there. I would prefer Ake to step up next season for us, as he did for his loaned club earlier.

On another note, if Real Madrid is serious about buying Eden Hazard, Conte wants sign Alvaro Morata and Raphael Varane from Real.

Chelsea boss Conte ready to sell Hazard if Real Madrid give him these two stars in return

ANTONIO CONTE will offload Eden Hazard to Real Madrid if he can sign Alvaro Morata and Raphael Varane, according to reports.

By DAN GIBBS
PUBLISHED: 17:17, Sun, May 14, 2017 | UPDATED: 17:19, Sun, May 14, 2017

Eden Hazard has been a long-term target for Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane and Florentino Perez keen to land a marquee signing.

Chelsea are facing a tough battle to keep hold of the Belgian but the Blues will not part with him without putting up a fight.

And according to Spanish publication Don Balon, if Conte can't keep hold of Hazard he will ask for two Madrid players.

Morata has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League and Conte is a big fan of the Spaniard.

Conte brought Morata to Juventus during his time with the Italian giants before leaving to take up the job as Italy coach.

Meanwhile, Conte is also said to be keen on strengthening his defence and Varane fits the centre-back mould he desires.

With John Terry leaving at the end of the campaign, Varane would be an ideal long-term replacement for the veteran.

And Conte is now putting the ball firmly in Madrid's court if they want to take away his star player Hazard from Stamford Bridge this summer, then they'll have to meet his demands.

lets see if arsenal can win epl next season, since most of those arsenal fans nagging/complaining/crying that Chelsea wins epl due to less fixture (not playing ucl)...btw, 2013-2014 is when we were kicked out at ucl group stage, but manage to win UEL right?

no team ever done that

So they better win EPL next season like how we done this season no? Otherwise eat arsene own words bruce.gif

Another thing to be reminded that we have a lots of loanee coming back at the end of this season.

Notably Matt Miazga, Andres Christensen, Loix Remy, Bertrand Traore, Mario Pasalic, Baba Rahman and many more.

It would be interesting to see how Conte will valuate our loanee.

Hopefully our loanees can fight for chance. I can see Ake sudden recall, may show he has chance to feature in some games next season. We have more games next season, so more chances for those not in first team to play.

their squad isn't that old i think. just their  striker probably oldest. Spurs are really coming up, playing so well but not yet hit their peak age. we are more or less constantly in the peak range since we always can replace with new buys or our youth academy.
*
If the market price too expensive, time to fall back on youth academy. No point having our youth keep winning cup but not utilize them to break into first team. And no point selling our youth, if we going to buy them back later, see Kortua case and now probably Lukaku as well.

if Christensen in other club we probably need at least £30mil to buy him.

zouma should be given chance too, currently he is just being rusty after out for so long and I think we might regret big time if we sell him.
I heard willian is staying too, he want to get england passport.

Yeah, dont think we need money to balance our books. We still got money leftover from selling Ramires and a few others, no?

The only worry is to balance the home-grown spots and foreign ones.

And wingbacks, we have seen no reliable backup for Moses sweat.gif

Who is Chelsea target Jeremy Toljan? Conte considering buying Hoffenheim's rough diamond

Nizaar Kinsella

Mar 29, 2017 13:26:09
The 3-4-3 is here to stay in west London and the Blues boss is looking for players to make it work in his second season in Stamford Bridge

Jeremy Toljan is a Germany Under-21 international playing for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga and he has attracted the attention of the likes of Chelsea and Napoli.

Chelsea scouting Toljan

The 22-year-old can play on the left and right side of defence, as well as in midfield, and he was first scouted by Antonio Conte's staff during the Blues manager's Juventus days.

Chelsea scouts attended both of Toljan's last two games for Germany's youth side against England and Portugal.

Toljan was eligible to play for both Croatia and the United States but rejected those approaches to play for the country of his birth. He made his professional debut for Hoffenheim at 18 years of age in a 2-2 draw with Mainz.

His development has been stunted this season due to a limited number of first-team opportunities. However, Toljan is regarded as a major talent in Germany and he is expected to become a senior international in the future.

Napoli are seriously interested in the former Stuttgart player, who came to the attention of many of Europe's elite teams after an impressive showing at the 2016 Olympics. Germany won the silver medal in Rio and Toljan was one of the stars of the tournament, which alerted Bayern Munich and Juventus to his talent.

He boasts great physical attributes, while he is impressive going forward. Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso cover a lot of ground for Conte's side and Toljan is capable of matching Chelsea's current wing-backs in that regard.

His versatility is also a strength and he has been used in a variety of roles for Hoffenheim this season. He has provided his team with a goal and an assist, but there is a feeling that he has been increasingly sidelined at the club because he is letting his contract run down.

However, he has also lacked consistency this season and he has made the kind of defensive errors that wouldn't be tolerated under Conte.

He is, though, a low-risk rough diamond. He will need a lot of work - perhaps a loan move too - but Conte and many of his counterparts at top continental clubs see Toljan as a talent that is ready to be moulded into something special.

He will be available on the cheap with his contract expiring in June 2016 and Chelsea may look to immediately use him as a back-up option for Alonso and Moses.

However, the Blues may also look to loan him out to a club across Europe or even ultimately sign him to sell him on - as they did with the likes of Patrick Bamford and Papy Djilobodji, who were both offloaded on for a profit despite minimal first-team action at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will try to add more than just bargains in the summer and they will likely add another full-back even if they sign Toljan, with Roma's Antonio Rudiger, West Ham's Michail Antonio, Schalke's Sead Kolasinac and Monaco's Djibril Sidibe all under consideration.

Bayern Munich's David Alaba and Juventus' Alex Sandro have also been mooted as possible incomings for Chelsea's wing-back position, but they are not deals that are expected to be completed in the summer.

CHELSEA LOANEE HAS RETURNED TO LONDON
May 25, 2017 OTONY

Chelsea loanee Marco van Ginkel has returned to Chelsea after his loan spell with Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.

Van Ginkel, who recently signed a new Chelsea contract until 2019 was spotted with fellow Dutchman Nathan Ake as the pair drove through the capital.

Van Ginkel, who joined PSV on loan in January after recovering from injury, made 14 appearances for PSV and scored 7 goals.

FENERBAHCE JOIN PSV IN RACE FOR CHELSEA’S OUTSTANDING MIDFIELDER… WILL CHELSEA BE RIGHT TO SELL HIM?
April 11, 2017 OTONY

Turkish club Fenerbahce have joined Dutch club PSV in the race to sign Chelsea midfielder Marco Van Ginkel according to Standard Sport.

The 24-year-old midfielder is currently on loan with PSV and he has impressed with the Dutch side since joining on loan in January after scoring seven goals in eleven appearances for PSV.

Chelsea signed Van Ginkel in 2013 for £8 million but a serious injury halted his progress in his first season at Chelsea and the midfielder is yet to play for Chelsea after making four appearances for Chelsea in 2013 before he suffered a serious knee ligament injury in September 2013.

The injury kept Van Ginkel on the sidelines throughout that campaign and he has failed to make an appearance for Chelsea ever since as he has been shipped out on loan since his recovery every season.

The report claims Fenerbahce have decided to make a move for the 24-year-old and want to open talks with Chelsea.

“He’s a good player. He can be the one who will move the ball from the midfield area to the last third,” Fenerbahce coach Dick Advocaat said.

“He’s a good passer and also a great competitor. He has a good mindset.

“If the terms are acceptable, signing him would be a no-brainer.”

Van Ginkel Chelsea’s contract runs until 2019.

Chelsea transfer news and rumours: Competition for £33m target, striker leaves, Diego Costa - the truth about the £75m move
All the latest transfer talk from Stamford Bridge

BY STEVE WOLLASTON
20:04, 24 MAY 2017

With the transfer window fast approaching, we take a look at what is currently happening at Stamford Bridge.

Our colleagues at The Mirror provide the updates.

Newcastle United want Chelsea target

Rafa Benitez will make a bid to land Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on loan.

The Belgian striker has made only one league start this season for the new champions following a £33million move from French giants Marseille last summer, but has netted four in his last three appearances — including the winner at West Brom that confirmed them as title winners.

Benitez wants to use the loan market to bolster his newly-promoted Newcastle squad, and offer former employers Chelsea the chance to give an expensive asset more Premier League experience.

Newcastle borrowed winger Christian Atsu from Stamford Bridge last season and he will now be their first summer signing.

The Magpies have been watching Batshuayi since he was at Marseille.

Benitez has between £70m-£100m to invest this summer and wants five new first-teamers, and at least as many new faces on top to bolster his Championship-winning squad

Striker leaves

Juventus have announced the permanent signing of Chelsea forward Juan Cuadrado .

The 28-year-old, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at the Serie A champions, has signed a contract that will keep him at Juve until June 2020.

Juventus will pay 20million euros (£17m) for Cuadrado, who has already made 83 appearances for his new club.

The Colombia international, having also enjoyed a temporary stay at Fiorentina in 2014, initially joined Juventus in August 2015 and then returned this term.

No £75m move for Costa

Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian have distanced themselves from a £75million move for Diego Costa, saying there has been no contact with the Chelsea hitman since the turn of the year.

The big-spending CSL side have stated that they will be looking at a “rational transfer plan” this summer in a bid to become more sustainable.

The Chinese club recently announced that they had reached a ‘verbal agreement’ for their No.1 transfer target, with owner Shu Yuhui saying “buying a world-class centre forward is a no-brainer."

Chelsea striker Costa, who scored 20 goals for the champions in the Premier League this season, has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, having refused to commit to the club.

£39m?

Chelsea are ready to splash £39m on Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko to push in front of Liverpool in the race for his signature.

The Reds had been the favourites to claim the 22-year-old midfielder this summer but the Blues are now closing in on a move.

RMC Sport in France have reported the Premier League champions have already held talks with Bakayoko.

Manchester United have also leaped in the battle for the France under 21 ace - with Jose Mourinho listing him high on his wish list.

Jurgen Klopp will have to act fast to claim his man - with his price tag set to rise after lifting the Ligue 1 crown.

Swansea want John Terry

Paul Clement is planning talks with John Terry over a possible move to Swansea.

Terry will leave Chelsea at the end of the season and is yet to make a decision on his future.

Following the win over Watford, he admitted Sunday's clash with Sunderland could be his last as a player.

But Clement , who worked with Terry at Stamford Bridge, wants to hold talks with the former England skipper.

"I will have a conversation with him. I've known him a long time," the Swansea boss said.

Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea ALL eyeing Stoke's Jack Butland

Four of the Premier League’s top six have made fresh checks on Jack Butland following his return to action.

Manchester City , Manchester United , Chelsea and Arsenal are all keeping tabs on Stoke star Butland, who has got back into the first team after a year out with a bad ankle injury.

The revived interest could lead to the 24-year-old England international joining the goalkeeping merry-go-round this summer.

United and City are most likely to move for new No1s this summer, and are among the clubs keeping track of how Butland has been getting on since his comeback last month.

Rodriguez

James Rodriguez is desperate to get a move to the Premier League after Real Madrid gave him the green light to move.

Colombian superstar James is being punted around to clubs on the back of a remarkable marketing deal to try to secure a big-money transfer.

It is believed super agent Jorge Mendes is looking for an English club with the agreement that if he signs it will be part funded by the player's personal kit sponsors Adidas, who will pay 20 per cent of his wages through their own marketing, image rights and shirt sales.

However, James is available and Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal are likely to be sounded out with him keen to move to London.

James joined Real Madrid in 2014 for £63m but has had mixed fortunes which explains his exit this summer.

Virgil van Dijk

Chelsea need to boost their squad to handle the rigours of the Champions League means even more fierce competition for top players.

And one of Liverpool's top targets is prime Antonio Conte's sights.

The Italian wants to improve all areas of his Premier League winning side and Southampton's Virgil van Dijk is his prime target - one of the very same centre halves Jurgen Klopp likes the look of.

The Independent claim "there is a growing belief that the 25-year-old Dutch international favours a move to Stamford Bridge" over other potential suitors, including the Reds and Manchester City. He has also been linked to Arsenal.

LEICESTER WANT £50M FOR MAHREZ

Leicester City are determined to get the best deal possibly for Riyad Mahrez and have slapped a £50 million pricetag on the playmaker's head, according to the Daily Star.

Last season's PFA Player of the Year is said to be unsettled at the club, after the 2016-17 campaign fell well short of their Premier League-winning heroics of the previous term.

But the Foxes will not let him go cheap, and any side thinking of signing Mahrez will have to meet their hefty valuation in order to close a deal.

CONTE WANTS PSG KEEPER

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants Paris Saint-Germain's Alphonse Areola as Thibaut Courtois' backup at Stamford Bridge, The Sun reports.

With Asmir Begovic having sealed a move to Bournemouth, the Italian boss sees Areola as a perfect fit as Courtois' understudy.

CITY FACE BATTLE FOR MENDY

Manchester City face stiff competition from a number of their Premier League rivals in their bid to sign Monaco defender Benjamin Mendy, according to L'Equipe .

Chelsea and Liverpool have both accelerated their interest in recent days while Manchester United are also monitoring developments.

Full-back Mendy is keen to move to England this summer, though Barcelona are also keen on the 22-year-old.

The Blues have made Southampton's Virgil Van Dijk their top defensive target, but are prepared to explore other options.

BAYERN EYE WILLIAN BID

Bayern Munich are interested in signing Willian from Chelsea, according to a report from Abendzeitung in Germany.
The Bavarian giants are keen to refresh their forward line, but Willian would cost around €50 million, which would make him the most expensive player in Bayern's history.

Chelsea offering Virgil van Dijk £170k-a-week wages to complete transfer ahead of Liverpool

GOSSIP
Tom Olver for Metro.co.ukWednesday 31 May 2017 11:11 pm

Chelsea are prepared to offer Virgil van Dijk mammoth wages in order to complete a move for the Southampton defender this summer, according to reports.

Van Dijk has greatly impressed during his two-year spell at St Mary’s but is widely expect to seal a big-money switch to a Premier League rival ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea are all lining up bids for the Dutch centre-back, with Pep Guardiola’s side ready to offer £50million in the coming months.
The Times suggest Chelsea are willing to hand Van Dijk £170,000-a-week wages in an attempt to lure the 25-year-old to Stamford Bridge, £50k-a-week more than Liverpool are offering.

However, it’s understood City are considering putting Van Dijk on wages of £180k-a-week to try and beat their top-four rivals to the defender’s signature.
Southampton are believed to be holding out for a bid of around £60m for the player they paid Celtic just £13m for back in 2015.

Barcelona open talks to sign Cesar Azpilicueta from Chelsea

GOSSIP
Metro Sport Reporter for Metro.co.ukWednesday 31 May 2017 10:42 am

Barcelona have opened initial talks to sign Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta, according to reports in Spain.
Sport claim that Barca are prioritising a transfer which will strengthen the right side of their defence and still have Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin as their first-choice signing.

But Azpilicueta is Barca’s main alternative and their technical secretary, Robert Fernandez, has ‘already started’ negotiations for the Chelsea defender.
Barca’s new boss Ernesto Valverde is also a huge admirer of Azpilicueta and had tried to sign the 27-year-old for Athletic Bilbao.

Chelsea have no plans to sell Azpilicueta.

Sport also claim that Azpilicueta has attracted interest from Manchester City but Chelsea are not willing to sell to a Premier League rival.
Antonio Conte also has no plans to sell the Spain international as he has been integral to Chelsea’s success this season.

Azpilicueta’s versatility has made him an attractive option for Barca.

Azpilicueta played every minute of Chelsea’s title-winning campaign in the Premier League and was a key part in the team’s smooth transition to a back three in October.
And it is Azpilicueta’s versatility which makes him such an attractive option for Barcelona as Valverde ideally wants a signing who can play at right-back and can adapt to a back three.

Michy Batshuayi open to leaving Chelsea with West Ham interested in summer transfer
Sean Kearns for Metro.co.ukWednesday 31 May 2017 8:39 am

Chelsea ace Michy Batshuayi has confirmed he could leave the club this summer after a disappointing debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgian arrived in west London for £30milllion from Marseille but was stuck behind Diego Costa for the duration of the season.

The enigmatic 23-year-old did score a crucial title-clinching goal at the Hawthorns in May and proved to be a popular figure in Antonio Conte’s side.
However, his chances have been limited and West Ham are known to be keen on signing the striker this summer as Slaven Bilic looks to strengthen his squad.

And, though Batshuayi insists he’s not striving to leave the club, he says he will consider his options if Conte wants to offload him this summer.
‘Honestly, I’m not trying to think too much [about my future],’ Batshuayi told Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad.
‘It will be up to the board and the coach to decide. I’m the player, I go where Chelsea send me.’

Nemanja Matic open to Manchester United move as Chelsea close in on Tiemoue Bakayoko transfer
Metro Sport Reporter for Metro.co.ukWednesday 31 May 2017 1:54 pm

Manchester United’s hopes of signing Nemanja Matic this summer have been boosted by Chelsea’s progress on a £42million move for Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Chelsea have entered into talks with the Frenchman over moving to Stamford Bridge and are confident of striking a deal with the defensive midfielder.

Antonio Conte is keen on bolstering the spine of his team this summer to deal with the added congestion of fixtures for next season.
Bakayoko, 22, was instrumental in Monaco’s title-winning campaign and both Manchester United and Liverpool have shown interest in the midfielder. Chelsea, though, lead the race and could clinch a £42m deal after a round of talks, according to the Independent.

The France international’s arrival would raise question marks over the future of Matic in west London and the Serbian is believed to be keen on reuniting with former boss Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
The Independent’s report claims preliminary talks between Matic and the Red Devils have already taken place to discuss personal terms on a move to the north-west.
While Conte is unlikely to want to sell to a rival, Bakayoko’s arrival would undoubtedly limit Matic’s playing time and the Red Devils will feel they stand a good chance of bagging the former Benfica man.

Chelsea offering Kurt Zouma to clubs on loan ahead of summer transfer window
Default author imageGOSSIP
Mark Brus for Metro.co.ukWednesday 31 May 2017 12:24 pm

Chelsea are reportedly offering defender Kurt Zouma to clubs on loan ahead of this summer’s transfer window, with interest from the likes of Marseille, Inter Milan and Valencia.

The Blues struggled to fit Zouma in as part of their first-team on a regular basis in the season just gone, and he may now benefit from playing time away from the club.
The 22-year-old suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury last season that kept him out for much of the beginning of the campaign, leading to just 13 appearances overall in 2016/17.

According to France Football, Chelsea have already offered Zouma to Marseille, and their Ligue 1 rivals Nice are said to be stepping up their interest after learning of his availability.
Chelsea have a number of top defenders ahead of Zouma in the pecking order at the moment, with Antonio Conte favouring senior players such as Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta for much of the season.

Goal summarises the biggest transfer talk involving Chelsea as Antonio Conte looks to build on his title success in his second season in charge

CHELSEA WANT CABALLERO

Chelsea want to sign former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero on a free transfer as back-up to Thibaut Courtois, Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo has told TyC Sports.

Caballero has been linked with Newcastle after leaving City, but he is wanted by Chelsea boss Antonio Conte to replace Asmir Begovic, who joined Bournemouth.

LYON TARGET TRAORE

Chelsea winger Bertrand Traore is a target for Lyon to replace the Fenerbahce-bound Mathieu Valbuena, according to L'Equipe.

Traore spent last season on loan at Ajax and the 21-year-old has also been linked with a move to West Ham United.

NEVES NEXT TO LEAVE PORTO

Ruben Neves could be the next player to leave Porto, with Chelsea and Liverpool keen to sign the midfielder, according to A Bola.

Following Andre Silva’s €38 million (£33.5m) move to AC Milan on Monday, Neves could also be sold by the Portuguese side, with the Premier League the expected destination for the 20-year-old.

PL RIVALS CHASE FIORENTINA WINGER

Chelsea and Manchester United are ready to battle it out with two Italian clubs for Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi, according to Tuttosport.

Inter Milan and Juventus are also interested in Bernardeschi, but Fiorentina would prefer to sell the Italy international abroad for a fee of at least £35 million.

CHELSEA KEEN ON RIEDEWALD

Chelsea have made an enquiry about Jairo Riedewald regarding a potential £13 million bid for the Ajax defender, according to Daily Star.

Antonio Conte is looking to strengthen his squad ahead of a Champions League campaign and is considering the merits of Riedewald, who can play at centre-back, left-back and central midfield.

CHELSEA EYE INSIGNE

Chelsea are preparing a move for Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne as they prepare for life after Eden Hazard, according to The Sun.

Real Madrid are about to make a huge push for Hazard, and Antonio Conte is looking to bring in a replacement quickly to avoid a summer of uncertainty.

Italy international Insigne would cost around £45 million and worked with Conte when he managed the Azzurri.

Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Kalidou Koulibaly and Willy Caballero
JAMES DUDKO
JUNE 14, 2017

Kalidou Koulibaly's agent has heaped praise on Premier League champions Chelsea amid reports his client will be allowed to leave Napoli this summer. Senegal centre-back Koulibaly has an agreement in place with the Serie A club allowing him to seek a transfer.

Italian source Premium Sport (h/t Metro's Ewan Roberts) detailed how "Napoli have a gentleman's agreement with Koulibaly that will allow him to leave if they receive a bid of €60 million (£52m)."

The defender's agent has talked up the quality in Chelsea's squad to Mondo Napoli (h/t Roberts): "Chelsea? They are a world class team that many players would like to join but I don't want to talk about this now."

Those words are timely since the Blues have long been linked with Koulibaly.

Roberts also detailed how the west London club showed strong interest in the central defender last season: "Premier League champions Chelsea have frequently been linked with the commanding centre-back as Antonio Conte looks to improve his options at the back. The Italian manager is a huge fan of Koulibaly and tried to sign him last summer, though Napoli rebuffed Chelsea's approaches and they opted to re-sign David Luiz instead."

This isn't the first time Napoli have made positive noises about Koulibaly joining Chelsea. Last month, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis hinted a bid from the Blues would be welcome, per Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t George Boulton of the Sun).

Whether the latest words are agent speak to try to tempt Chelsea to revisit an idea they had a year ago is unclear. However, it is clear the club wants to reinforce its back three.

Manager Antonio Conte has even been linked with a move for Juventus' ball-playing centre-back Leonardo Bonucci, per Calciomercato.com (h/t David Wright of the Daily Express). Bonucci is a talent, but Koulibaly is a cheaper alternative and a more aggressive player in the air.

In fact, Koulibaly's aerial dominance would likely be welcomed in a defensive trio also featuring converted full-back Cesar Azpilicueta. While Bonucci is outstanding with the ball at his feet, Conte already relies on Brazilian David Luiz to build attacks with his quality distribution from the back.

With skipper John Terry leaving the club, Chelsea's need for defensive reinforcements is obvious. If Conte is unable to tempt Bonucci away from the Italian top flight, Koulibaly would represent an excellent alternative.

Deal for Backup Goalkeeper Close

Conte may still be searching for a new centre-back, but he is reportedly close to landing a deputy goalkeeper to replace Asmir Begovic. The stopper in question is Willy Caballero, who will sign for Chelsea after being released by domestic rivals Manchester City, according to ESPN.co.uk.

ESPN's report detailed the steps Chelsea have taken to make Caballero the replacement for new Bournemouth 'keeper Begovic and the No. 2 behind Thibaut Courtois: "Sources said Chelsea were in ongoing talks with Caballero, who rejected a one-year deal to stay at City and had also had offers both from England and clubs in La Liga."

Caballero is a smart pickup for the league champions as an experienced and dependable presence between the sticks. The former Malaga man is also a stopper who can be relied upon in big matches, evidenced by his heroics in the 2016 League Cup final, where Caballero made several saves in a penalty shootout to beat Liverpool.

Now 35, Caballero still represents excellent value on a free transfer, even if the Blues may also rue letting Begovic go. No team in England's top flight boasted a backup goalie as capable as the Bosnian.

How Chelsea’s starting XI could look next season with four new signings
CHELSEA look set to bring in plenty more players during the summer transfer window - here’s how their starting XI could look next season.

By Jack Watts / Published 2nd July 2017

The Blues snapped up Willy Caballero on a free transfer from Manchester City yesterday after allowing their previous backup keeper Asmir Begovic to head to Bournemouth.

They also agreed a deal to sign Exeter defender Ethan Ampadu.

And it’s thought that Chelsea will continue their business this week.

The Guardian claim Antonio Rudiger will have a medical with the west London club after a £29m fee was agreed with Roma.

The report says the Blues are then set to wrap up deals for Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alex Sandro.

Romelu Lukaku is also odds-on to join the Stamford Bridge side before the window shuts.

So how might Antonio Conte’s line-up look next season?
