I believe that was the price when it's officially sold here by Xiaomi for a special period of time. For an AP set, the price isn't really shocking. But hey, it's a cheap phone to begin with. Just enough for social stuff.

By my logic, that is really stupid by Xiaomi Malaysia.

I never had original Xiaomi Malaysia phone before so I can't be sure but currently using an AP set Redmi 4 Prime. It came with China standard plug(2 pin, flat) 2A charger. Just need an adapter because it's still compatible with our 240v socket.

Tough to tell. Can't really decide based on paper. Perhaps you can try ask people over Android section. Those Redmi Note 4 and P9 Lite threads.
