I don't have broadband at home, relying on 4G at home. Been trying out all telco and found only the blue one working at my place.

Wanted to try out the last one, which is Yes 4G.. but they run TDD-LTE. Damn it..

When TP Link launch the M7300 MiFi that supports TDD-LTE, I took the opportunity to upgrade my old 3G only MiFi to this MiFi, and test out Yes 4G.


It wasn't plug and play in the beginning. It can connect but can't surf.

After much research, found out I need to create an APN profile and leaving everything default will do.

The M7300 I bought got problem. After a while, the lights will blink alternatively and it just hang up. Brought back to shop in Lowyat, they say got a service center up stairs. Since I had thrown the receipt away, they honor the warranty using the manufacturing date. I got a replacement on the spot. Quite a surprise.

Wanted to buy a replacement battery for my old 3G MiFi, but out of stock. So I will be going back again for that.


2 weeks ago I bought a pair of homeplug, TP Link AV500. Don't ask why, keep ending up with TP-Link. So far only Tp_Link have a pair of homeplug that offers AC pass-through, and WiFi kit. I realised the homeplug can act as range extender without using the AC line. It just doesn't take input from WiFi, transfer over power cable, and share it over WiFi on the other end.

This prompted me to search for either:
1. A USB Stick that support 4G TDD-LTE to plug into my old wifi router.
2. A WiFi Router that directly support TDD-LTE.


Again, found it on TP-Link website. It's the MR200 and some 1200 model.

Gone out to buy the MR200, plug in my prepaid Yes 4G SIM card, set up the APN profile and voila... works like charm.

Best thing is, this router can even cover the whole house while the MiFi cannot. Now wasted my effort in buying the powerline adapter.. hahahaha... damn!

Just did a speedtest.. don't know how this stack up with other. But I am happy with the speed.

good thing you're within YES coverage with such speed. I'm also hunting for 4G line to use at home. Digi, Maxis is completely out of coverage in house.
Hope there is people who uses YES 4G LTE in Penang to share its speed.

Anyone got cheap TDD-LTE device so i can check my Yes4G coverage?..

Just buy the YES 4G LTE prepaid to test out first, its only RM10.

I'm using Galaxy J7(2015)..and it does not show in the supported device..seeing if any where got cheap huddle now..

About your advertise signature that extend 4G LTE / GSM 1800MHz Repeater boost indoor LTE signal, did u do any real site testing?

self tested, very simple to test

umobile new 1800mhz 4g lte band straight boost up

repeater no care what G standard, it just runs on a particular RF band to elevate that band signal reception, so telco put any G on that band all works

just need to make sure your expected "G" in running/available with that band first is uptmost important, these data can be found via computer software or phone APP

thanks for your explanation.. I'll leave the network expansion to the telco. Although I consider my area to be very problematic in receiving a stable network from maxis, digi, umobile and celcom indoor.

But we're always free to jump from one telco to another if their network is not working up to our 'expectation'.. just need to buy prepaid sim to test which is usable.
