Then your LCD monitor will magically split into two, and you'll have to LCD monitors.

Seriously, if you bought an LCD monitor which has DVI and VGA inputs, you'll most probably have a button on the LCD monitor in which you can cycle through the inputs which you have plugged in.

If you're hoping that you can have both the PC AND xbox 360 screen side-by-side or something of that sort...well, you just can't.

FYI, Dell UltraSharp 24" 2407 can view both at the same time. but i'm not buying that. so i wan to ask whether if i buy 19/20 inch LCD will i have the button that u mentioned which can switch between DVI and VGA.

Thanks for ur info bro notworthy.gif

IIRC if the monitor has dual input (dvi and vga), there should be a switch somewhere to let you cycle between the 2 connection. Im using samsung 205bw here smile.gif

FYI, dell 2407 dont view vga and dvi at the same time, i can only do PIP between composite/component versus dvi or vga only. If between dvi and vga, ill have to press a button to switch source. Same goes to my 19" and 20" dell on another pc. Not sure about other brands, but im preety sure its able to swtich, cause its a preety standard feature.

well, we are given composite cables. Can use that? The graphics wouldn't be that good though

FYI, I have a Dell 2407. and like singleguy said, it can't show DVI and VGA at the same times....PIP and PBP only works on DVI/VGA and component/composite/svideo

My setup is this:

I have two 19" LCDs (not too expensive to buy two these days. Can be cheaper than one Dell widescreen for the same or more screen area). Both are the same and have dual VGA/DVI inputs.

The connection is like this:

PC ----DVI----> Monitor 1
PC ----DVI----> Monitor 2
Xbox ----VGA----> Monitor 2

When I'm using my PC and my Xbox is off, I have a dual screen setup. Dual screen is wonderful when you are using a PC - makes life SO much easier.

When I'm playing the Xbox, I turn off the dual-screen on the PC (and use only one screen), and the Xbox uses the screen that I have just turned off. Works very well!
