I know in Europe there are quite a number of people ride supersportsbike as a daily rider. In Malaysia I've only seen them being riden only on weekends. Why?

What are the few supersportsbikes that are comfortable enough to be riden as a daily rider?

If you want comfort, you'll need a sport tourer with it's more upright riding position

i know of a few people who ride their super sports daily...

gotta keep in mind.. these big bike maintenance aint cheap. 4 cylinders servicing can easily go up to RM250+++++++....lets not forget about the wear and tear of tires, chains, sprockets... again...not cheap.

I have to agree with you. I ain't making big buck, have a family to feed. I rode my ER6N(not even a super sport) for only 1 1/2 year (bought used 2012). The maintanance for spare part tyre, brake pad, sprocket, chain, stator coil, battery, pump and etc alone cost me close to 4-5k alone. Unlucky as I might be, but those are the cost of maintanance you have to pay sooner or later. I had since bought a LC 135 as my daily ride since I find it is more cost efficetive. My 650 is now my weekend bike. Happy as can be! smile.gif

probably because when you bought it, the parts were in time for replacement. from my experience owning a suzuki bandit for the past 6 years, a set of tyres (rm1k) last for a year, original battery (rm250) lasted 4.5 years, brake pads (rm300) last 2 years, chain and sprocket set (rm500) about 2.5 years. spark plugs (rm200) iridium probably 3 years. I had a coil plug socket failure in the 4th year, spent rm300 buying used parts from ebay. the bike is my daily ride, it rests in the weekend, so far it has clocked 97k km.

Okay. I understand a little better now. More wear and tear equal more RM for THE MAINTENANCE BUDGET.

Latest from Paul Tan teaser. Modenas will be launching new sportbikes this mid of this month. Modenas model mimicking new bikes on pulsar RS200 from Bajaj India. Images of the bike looks good. Wonder what the price will be smile.gif

Why?

Because after hutang kaww-kaww buying branded helmets, jackets, gloves and boots to match the status of the bike, owner already struggling to pay the monthly installment, insurance and roadtax.

So cannot afford to add in the cost of sticky tyres, chains, sprockets, synthetic engine oil, oil filter to ride the bike to work every day.

That's why nice bikes usually only get ridden during weekends.

Weekday bawak kapcai.

Problem is, weekend bawak superbike pun perangai serupa bawak kapcai jugak... pancung kereta, cilok-mencilok, lawan arus & bedal lampu merah.

Good for you but that's a naked bike / standard bike not a sportsbike.
