Have been using maxis one 98 for 5 months now.

Feel that it is overkilled (10gb weekday + 10gb weekend) cannot utilize more than 50% monthly, unlimited call (use less than 50 minutes each month, SMS - almost no usage)

Now move to hotlink. I can sign up rm30 2GB monthly plan. It should be more than enough for my usage with occasional calls. Should be less than rm35 per mth of total which I estimate even factor in pay per use calls or SMS.

Now with just merely rm30 2GB data,

I am backup with
1) free calls to 5 maxis/hotlink no
2) 8GB of weekend data
3) 30GB of daily 1 hour data. (1gb per day to be used for 1 hour)

Conversion at maxis centre took only less than 3 minutes to process.
After completed the transaction at counter and was given the new SIM card. The moment I step out from the centre, immediately my maxis postpaid card is disabled and hotlink one is actually activated. So efficient.

if u use calls a lot. this 2gb plan rm30 monthly internet pass may not fit you.

if you use more than 50 mins per month. u are better off to go for the rm50 5gb + 100 min Internet pass. This one comes with free calls and again you get more data.
this rm50 pass is quite value for money for heavier user. given the price you paid and what you get.

2gb - rm30
3gb - rm38 - only rm8 for extra 1G
5gb - rm50 - rm20 for extra 2 gb but you get extra 100 free minutes to call
personally i do not make so much calls, and i can call using the free 50 mins from my another celcom first basic 38 line.
so for hotlink, the 2gb pass is sufficient for me. not to forget every day there is 1gb free extra data to use for one hour. and weekend got 2gb. more than enough.

yes, in terms of price and bundled package, digi is cheaper for sure. especially for 1000 mins free talktime, it is as good as unlimited calls for most.

but personally i prefer maxis and i am happier to be with maxis network. calls wise hotlink indeed cannot fight with digi. but hotlink rm38 is 4gb, so this is same with digi, plus daily 1gb for one hour (30gb per month) and 8gb weekend per month. data wise i feel that hotlink wins in this department.

for me who does not use so much calls, i am ok with hotlink. i may consider to take hotlink rm50 5gb + 100mins plan if i find that my usage exceed 2gb rm30 + celcom first basic 38 rm38 3gb + 50mins.

price is one factor for decision, but i care more about the overall user experience which it is something that not only price can justify for it. 

Celcom has more data for their internet plan for cheaper price but their freebies are not as good as maxis that is really usable.

Ic. That's quite a lot to go. Even TOP up all the time without usage. Also need 3 years to hit the limit.

no u need to top up manually, unless u got a maxis postpaid line, u can setup auto top up at maxis website.
rm30 - 30 days validity, rm60 for 60 and rm100 for 100 days. u will have 8gb weekend data as long as ur no is active.

once u have the credit balance inside the account, then u purchase the internet pass at your wish as long as ur no is active.

if u purchase the rm50 internet pass, u will have 5gb data to use, and 100 free minutes. u will get 1hr per day of 1gb data free as long as ur internet pass is active.

For TOP up just use the hotlink red app and TOP up using credit card will Do. No need to be so troublesome to do it at 7-11.

surfmore 50 got 5gb of data and 2gb tv now data rite? but no free calls.
so it is more expensive than hotlink rm50 bundled internet pass since that one got 100 mins free calls which is about rm30 in value.

Rm12 for 120 mins. It means one min rm0.10. That's quite cheap.

So total rm62 per month. Which is quite ok actually.
