Someone is giving misleading info here. First, It is normal for HR to ask for payslip to verify your info (Last drawn Salary) in job application form. The HR personnel made a mistake, he should request you provide payslip during the interview invitation and ask you provide on actual interview day. No payslip support everyone can cincai claim that getting RM10k salary monthly. Second, what @nova80 advise is partially correct. HR will request new employee submit TP3 Form if he/she have worked with other employee in the current year. The reason is to sum up total chargeable income you get from previous employer in the current year and possible chargeable income you will receive in this new company. Then compute your monthly Potongan Caruman Bulanan [PCB]; MONTHLY TAX DEDUCTION [MTD]deduction for each month. This is the PDF form for TP3: http://lampiran.hasil.gov.my/pdf/pdfam/Borang_TP3_2015.pdfMore info please refer: http://www.hasil.gov.my/bt_goindex.php?bt_...sequ=6&bt_lgv=2This post has been edited by vextor: May 11 2017, 11:32 AM

Ethical approach - come clean and apologise.
Ride the little white lie - Lost payslip, ask HR to take the conservative route in tax deductions and claim back through tax returns.
I'd go with the latter unless it'll get you in deep shit later down the road. Also, quit lying.

I only had 3 years experience prior to this current job but I sold myself good. PCB average at 500 to 600 a month. So when it comes to lhdn rebate...it is like another bonus day la.

Is this your second job? Most companies will have a background check (which may include calling your previous office to verify you worked there). Also, companies (as far as I am aware) would always ask for a minimum of last payslip; to calculate your new salary and verify what you have stated as last drawn salary. Most employers would ask for last 3 months.
