Probably a redundant topic for poms but “pomeranian gangz” seems to have fallen asleep.
Hi, My name is Inca. I am a pom n should be excited to blow my 3 candles soon. Unfortunately my excitement was short lived, cos I have contracted BSD. Six months back I started to lose my fur at the upper back limbs near the butt and quickly propagated towards my rear back near the tail. Funnily enough my skin turned black in the area where the fur was gone.
My friend (my owner) drove me to the vet for a couple of diagnoses, yet the vet sang the same old melody: No worries! It ain't problematic. No fungus, no apparent skin problems. Some vitamins, a handful of fish oil capsules and hop! Off you go, and sweared that my fur will return (just a matter of time) and I will again be the most handsome pom in the world. But the hic is that I am getting balder each day. I told my friend to google my botak symptom. He cried out a river and told me I might have BSD (black skin disease). Poms are prone to BSD?. Still little known disease without an appropriated cure. Some specialists said probably genetic, some said hormonal imbalance. Some even used the words i.e; castrate, neuter, spay could fix my problem. I am freaked out rite now. I don't want them to cut my balles. Can you pls help me?
Any good vet who could deal with it ? Thanks in advance my friends

Hi Kazarboys, so sorry to hear that. You have twice my problem. Yep it's deffo a headaching problem for us n even more to our doggies me think.
Looks like no cure for the moment. No treatment is guaranteed. Not even neuter or spay. I googled tons of info concerning BSD lately n it seems there's a huge thumbs-up for "DermMagic Rescue Lotion". American product. I ordered a 8oz bottle for 35$ usd from Amazon. It should logically arrive arnd the 12th May.
I will test the product on my doggy n let you know the outcome. Hope it works. Fingers crossed!.

I checked Ubuy before. You can find in lelong too.
I finally opted for Amazon bcoz it's cheaper.
A 8oz bottle cost arnd 400 bucks RM in ubuy n lelong.

Btw, page 1 in Ubuy u can see a bottle of 4oz for only 79 RM whereas in page 2 a bottle of 8oz they are selling for 389 RM. The equation was not there. Strange!

Anyway maybe you can try the 79 bucks 4oz.

Hi Kazarboyz. In ubuy, if u expanded the detail view for the 8oz one u would see this message below:
It would probably mean the 8oz bottle is an imported product. Thus my guess is that the very cheap 79 bucks 4oz bottle is a local fillup product. Is the fillup a genuine
DerMagic rescue lotion? U better check with them before you place an order.

Note : This product is not Fulfilled by Ubuy and can take minimum 10 days in delivery. We might cancel the product from the order and refund you if any issue arise with the delivery of this product.

Hi, FYI. DerMagic lotion after 26 days. No hair yet but a thin layer of fur starts to appear. The most significant result is that black skin faded considerably. Its now pink. Will continue the treatment n update the post in a month.

I used apple cider vinegar diluted with water and now my dog skin is better. You may try with green tea and apple cider vinegar.
