Greetings, need you guys opinion. Yamaha xj6n 2014 used for rm20k ok or not. Mileage below 30k. One of my neighbor want to sell it. This pakcik bought it for retirement, end up became display bike at home. Exaust already changed but I dunno what brand.

This is why I love buying second hand bikes directly from owners.

There are a hell lot of ppl who buy bikes as weekend toys, as a result if you hv the cash you hv a good chance of finding low-mileage bikes under 3-4 years old with little wear & tear at cheaper prices, without paying SST. Huge savings compared to buying new.

Check it fires up ok from cold & beware of 'motor simpan' problems - bikes that hv been unused for a very long time hv their own set of problems.

I got my TNT600 from a farmer who suddenly got rich after selling his land. He rode it suka2 for a year (under 5000km) and left it under his house for almost a year. Bloody bargain at RM23k, paid cash. Luckily I bought it in time coz if the bike had been unused & the roadtax had expired for more than a year, the new owner will need to bring it to PUSPAKOM b4 transferring ownership...mafan...so that's something for u to keep in mind.

Last monday went and bought a new bike directly from the owner and sold my bike at the same time and same place.
I never thought it was that easy. For buyers u dont even have to be there, just give ur name, ic and address and thats it. The process of changing the name is like less than 5 minutes!

So after the name changing, the buyer have 7 days including holiday to get a new pink slip from any jpj in malaysia. To do that u need to pay for the insurance 1st and roadtax then u can get ur new title.
So protip to anyone who wanted to sell their bikes, just dont renew ur insurance and roadtax if u really want to sell it because after u transfer the “hak milik” at jpj all will be canceled.

Was delighted that the process is so easy and fast that i could not almost believe it lol

Hi,

I have never bought a bike from direct owner before. Anyways I also dont have any motorcycle license but aiming for used triumph street triple R at the moment. Previously rode a ninja 250. I guess to protect buyer and owner, it is safer for both to be at JPJ to change name? I worry in the case that buyer pay owner, then owner give bike and geran but somehow owner submit police report saying bike is 'stolen'. Also change name no need motorcycle license right?

Thanks bro. Ride on.

If the geran is already in ur position lodging a police report is like he’s not okay in the head lol. It can happen and its best if u are with the buyer when the name changing happens because the buyer needs ur particulars (name and ic number)

As for licence, no u dont need one when buying a bike (thats what i have experience)

i think i saw a member here wrote tht bike price in msia is determined by  gomen?? miti??

thts y modenas can sell the bajaj bikes so cheap?

if compared  to pulsar wit water cooled fi enjine..  the performance n fuel consumption is worth it for the price..

this gpx is solely for the looks...

the brand dono will survive for how long...

Went to see the bike in Jawi, Penang.
Rm11,900 OTR. though specs says its 160 kg, its quite easy to handle/nimble
Looks good la the bike, the grey color one seems sleek, one shade darker would have been perfect.
but dunno reliable or not, hence still waiting more ppl to test and review.

Yes the Basic selling price proposed by the distributor and at the end approved by MITI... all vehicles sells in MY including local brand/assembly..

Dominar also not cheep.. in India, the price after convert is 8k++ ... but then they have shipping fees + Export tax have to paid to Indian gomen before exporting parts/vehicles..

Stupid question here , where do I stick my L LICENSE sticker? Is there like a requirement (eg one in front one at the back?). Any one can suggest creative ideas on how to stick behind of the bike when there's no platform to stick to lol

This bike like the bajaj ns200 quite popular in india.
Most reviews of the ns200 will include this bike as a comparison.

Guys, anyone experienced buying second hand bike from direct owner before? Owner still got loan with bank and on the geran / title itself it says -hakmilik dituntut oleh bank XXXX-. So what is the proper procedure for the buyer? Ask owner to settle the balance with bank XXXX first then only proceed with tukar nama?

Stay away from this kind of deal. If the owner can settle the balance and change the ownership to his/her own name then u can consider buying.
Please do not buy the “sambung bayar” ones and also the “JT” or jalan terus (it means the owner didnt pay the bank for the vehicle so u know what will happen) and the risk is up to u.

i hv witnessed frm afar, its like buyer will pay d guy who wana sell the bike still under finance. buyer pay cash, seller settle the amount with bank etc with the cash. then only proceed tukar nama.

there is some sorta b+w made between the two parties and signed wit ic stated etc.

cos both parties r genuine seller + buyer...

Ya personally i prefer the owner to settle the balance itself first and get the geran / title to be redeemed from the bank. Then can proceed with the normal process. Ill have to see if owner got enough capital or not to settle the loan.

Im not going through the sambung bayar thingy.

Ya thats what is being proposed at the moment, a bnw agreement. I suppose this is common, but i suspect legally it is not binding since the bike legally is claimed by the bank and the owner actually is not legally able to sell it until he/she finish paying for the loan. The drawback for buyer is that you have to depend on trust i guess.
