give it another try without the windshield. this is so you get clean air coming to you. although ull have to tahan the air to ur chest for the test.

most ppl put big windshield coz they want the air to go OVER their helmet which creates its own problems....
- it creates a vacuum in the area between windshield and rider
- vacuum sucks air from all around it causing turbulence which in turns causes buffeting.
- add ur body to it which pushes air away even more, and pillion suffers more from the vaccum n turbulence

so first try to get clean, non turbulent air to ur helmets...theyre (mostly) designed to cut through air anyway.

if it works, then perhaps look into smaller windshields that pushes air away from ur chest but ur helmet still gets clean air.

on my z9, the air is directed to my chin bar. and on a z9, where the pillion sits higher than rider, pillions helmet is basically in clean air so i have no issue with pillion complaining about buffeting.

Hows ur experience with a pillion rider on ur Z9? Im thinking of getting one over the MT09 but my pillion felt it is a bit weird as the pillion seat is quite high up, I havent had the chance to ride it yet though, just sat on it at the shop, and may I ask what windshield ur using? biggrin.gif

im on a z900 v1 using double bubble windscreen from aliexpress... can see it HERE

the ride itself is fine as long as the pillion doesnt move around too much and positions herself properly while the bike is leaning.

honestly... the z9 pillion seat is a joke...its so small and so thin... pillion gets uncomfortable really fast. even if u recushion it, it needs to be pretty damn thick to the point of ugly. widening also doesnt really help much as there isnt any support on the sides for it as the frame itself is pretty slim.

if u wanna get a bike and intend on carrying a pillion alot of the time... i say find something else.

my gf has never ridden any bikes til she met me... her first ride was on the z9..and she was ok for the 20-30 minutes she was on it... then i bought a versys1000... now she refuses to ride the z9 hahahahhha

hi guys, im riding mt09 v3 with big ass wind shield, however pillion is still getting strong wind buffeting. she mention its hard for her to even adjust her head position, is it because its a naked bike after all, wind coming from all over the bike?
*
Pillion need to have hide behind rider to cut off the wind, just like how group of cyclist ride together. When your pillion able to position well, you can ride fast and smooth.

My experience.

Haha.. on almost every sports naked, the pillion seat is mostly an afterthought.

The pillion seat on my NK800 is just as bad if not worst than the z900. That said Honda seems to put a little more concessions for comfort on their seat design than other bikes. The older Monsters and MT09's rear perch is also not too bad

Sometimes I really wonder if I'm searching wrongly.

Apologies if this has already been asked... I don't see a thread on Harley Davidson. I'm seeing more interests in BMW bikes and have a friend who claims maintenance is low.

I've actually never really liked a Harley. But lately I'm wondering if it is a good bike to own? Low or High Maintenance?

How about price - depreciate fast/slow?

Happy to hear your thoughts and pointers. I'm a newbie at this smile.gif
*
Harley don’t have chains to clean and lube, don’t have valve clearance. Air cooled ones are stupid simple bikes. Sure the damn thing loves leaking oil but it’s just changing oil seals.

Second hand ones depreciate slow.

They are stupid bikes. No technology, heavy as an anchor, no horsepower, noisy as fcuk. But the 1HD made in USA ones have very good fit and finish, feels quality and solid compared to a z650.

But ride one first, you might like it, you may not. A Harley is a Harley, with its distinct v twin that shakes like a giant prostate vibrator. You can’t find it anywhere else.

I think Harley bikes are stupid on paper compared to lighter and more powerful bikes. But we ride bikes not talk about bikes on paper, so it doesn’t really matter it’s stupid on paper. Go ride one and share your thoughts!

new year new bike.

opt out for gsxs750(2022) to replace er6n. used of course, less than 5k mileage but warranty over as its pass 2 years. Wife approve as its better pillion seat vs er6. jury still out, rode with her only 1xxkm.

test out hornet/z900/gsx8s before choosing this. Sadly those model hard to come by as 2nd unit.

Its ok, dont think any z900 SE less than 40k. Survey for 6 month.

Besides the bike is at 5k mileage and trying suzuki now.gotta love the one push start and low rpm assist.

congrats, the s750 is definitely a good bike.
my only complain is the rider seat is a bit too small as its not covering your whole butt properly compared to z900.
this makes it good for attacking corners but sacrificing comfort on the long run, so you might need to look at widening the seat after some time.

don't forget to change the exhaust to bring out that bassy inline 4 sound brows.gif

yes, the seat is abit small, make it easier to shift butt. haha.

inline 4 sound is nice, another reason go for this s750, and almost double hp from er6n. even with pillion, riding at cruising speed 150-170, is effortless. Plan to go long trip with wife this bike, and see if she is ok with it on long distance trip before replacing the er6 with scooter.

for ultimate pillion comfort, nothing beats a touring bike or maxi scoot. My pillion has sworn off ever getting on the NK after one single 3 hr ride. Looks like I have to get my Dominar out from mothballs or maybe trade it in for a maxi scoot.
