I'm guessing Samsung trying to kill 2 birds with a stone. Are they trying to clear the old stock because the newer 360 is coming soon?

Opps... it seem like the picture shown on the offer page was the newer version (handheld) but Samsung Malaysia don't even have a page for it yet. Let's see if it's the newer version.

Should make them consider 2 years warranty as standard given the price. Then they would include other freebies like gear vr or dex ma.

It's really up to you. Pre-order is just reserving a slot for your desired phone. Not necessary must include extra, hence we called it freebies. Regardless of what you think, Samsung still need the crowd for launching day.

Probably will change status on 3th or 4th when it really start shipping. I'm guessing they will use LEX. I wonder if LEX is a collaboration with poslaju. I'm seeing a lot of LEX in my office area here in KIP.

If use for 360, I found only kpop and porn able to provide the high resolution to make it worthwhile. You will still see plenty of black dots on clear background.

If movies, I find it tiring. But if you can get 3d movies, then its worth it. I never watch 3d before hence I find it awesome. Haha...

Read a review about it. Personally I think the quality is so so. The old one has higher mp but they said it struggle to stitch photo correctly. The picture has to click in to see the 360. I wonder why they can't make it like a wide panaroma, instead it had really weird preview pic.

For RM999, better buy go pro.

Please la... if you preorder, guarantee freebies. You want to try be first 200? Obviously Samsung is trying to buy your time while at the same time making you part with more money for some gimmicky stuffs.

Can't remember too well. All I remember was 50% off for second unit. They formed a queue outside on of the entrance. When door opened, those late one rushed in. Those in queue couldn't get. Those who didn't get ended up begging Samsung to let them get it. Finally Samsung released 100 more for the same promo.

HDR or not, not really a problem with gear vr. The ppi is not there yet. It is really pixelated (unless you get S8 which I think should be better since it had higher ppi, close to my S6e).

Bought one along with both my cousins. Really not much use. Will you use it for movies? Probably at first. Then it sort of fade away. If 3D movies, yeah, better than buying a 3D tv. It's not that fun to wear for long period even in air conditioned environment.

Honestly this is a good move by Samsung. Personally I really hate all these queuing and everyone should just enjoy the same package, instead of fighting with the horrendous queue that didn't exist when the late comers stay rushing in.

That's the marketing power. How do you think Samsung get people to show up for the press? I don't think po is losing out. Just that Samsung knew all too well how many will be interested to splash the cash for gear vr and 360. Just look at the depressed price for previous gen gear vr. Even at half price, I wouldn't buy at all given my previous experience with last generation. You definitely need 4K screen under 5.5 inch to be enjoying vr at all.

Haha... not an issue. Amoled has birth defect. It's a fact hence the color pops. You either love it or hate it. White is never white with amoled.

This is nothing new in chip manufacturing. Just like Intel, certain week would yield higher overclock with lower voltage. Different factory, different machine, different calibration would all affect the chip quality. Just like dram or nand production as well. However I don't think it would make any difference in S8. There's no overclocking and Samsung would apply the minimum the voltage that would work across all binning thus rendering this whole argument about power saving invalid. Unless someone dig deep and start modifying the settings for cpu.

Some people just don't care about comparing apple to orange, but they wanted the orange to taste like apple. Can't do much about those who has a fixated perception on how something should be instead of understanding what they really bought in the first place.

Take it with a pinch of salt. All these over priced shit would make you happier? If I get a choice of discount vs freebies, I would take the first option.

Initially I asked my sister whether she can get staff price but seem like no news yet. If I didn't have the hsbc voucher, I would have postpone it until my sister could get her hands on it, probably with some staff discount.

I think what they are trying to say is that they will cover your screen repair for accidental case ie cracks from drop or banging against something hard accidentally. They are trying to make it sounds complicated by describing the evil act one might try to crack their screen intentionally to get a replacement due to wear and tear like scratches etc.
